Il corso si prefigge di fornire allo studente gli strumenti necessari alla comprensione dei meccanismi; patologici delle malattie genetiche
patologia genetica e molecolare

Patologia genetica. Classificazione delle malattie genetiche. Le
malattie monogeniche. Correlazioni genotipo- fenotipo Eccezioni
all’ereditarietà mendeliana: le malattie da triplette e le malattie
mitocondriali. Epigenetica e malattie: l’imprinting e l’inattivazione dell’X e
implicazioni patologiche. Ereditarietà oligogenica e multifattoriale.

The primary goal of the course is to provide the students with the necessary tools to understand the pathological mechanisms of genetic diseases
Genetic pathology and molecular pathology

Mechanisms of genetic diseases. Classification of human diseases.  Monogenic diseases. Genotype -Phenotype correlation. Excpetions to mendelian inheritance: mitochondrial disease anddiseases of unstable repeat expansion. Epigenetic and imprinting defects. X inactivation mediated diseases. Complex diseases.
