Riconoscere i cambiamenti epistemologici del pensiero medico, apprendere la semeiotica neurologica dei tic e acquisire indicazioni per il loro trattamento medico e il potenziale approccio neurochirurgico.

Ritenuti per molti secoli solo atteggiamenti bizzarri o segni di maleducazione, solo nell’800 i tic sono stati riconosciuti dalla medicina come condizioni patologiche. Percorrere la storia della scoperta di queste strane manifestazioni e illustrare la clinica e il trattamento della forma più complessa (malattia dei mille tic o sindrome di Tourette) è lo scopo del corso.

Recognizing the epistemological changes of medical thought, learning semiotics neurological tics and acquire data for their medical treatment and the potential neurosurgical approach.

The tics were considered for many centuries only bizarre behaviours or signs of rudeness. Only in the Nineteenth Century have been recognized by medicine as pathological conditions. Analyze the history of the discovery of these strange events and illustrate the clinical manifestations and the treatment of the most complex form of tics (Tourette’s syndrome) is the purpose of the course.
