Il Corso di Pediatria, articolato tra il 5 ° e  6° anno,  nel secondo semestre del 5° anno  prevede un'attività di
TIROCINIO PROFESSIONALIZZANTE che si realizza
attraverso la frequenza presso un pediatra di famiglia e incontri frontali e che si propone di far acquisire allo studente,  secondo criteri basati sull’evidenza nonché attraverso la consultazione della letteratura più recente e degli aspetti di multiculturalità
-          le competenze necessarie al medico non specialista per affrontare i problemi pediatrici più comuni riguardanti il bambino sano e la sua crescita, nella pratica clinica e  in campo preventivo, in considerazione delle differenze secondo le età,
-          le conoscenze fondamentali per saper riconoscere le situazioni che richiedono un intervento medico immediato o l’invio allo specialista in considerazione delle problematiche relative all’area pediatrica
-          cenni  sull’approccio diagnostico e terapeutico delle più comuni patologie dell’infanzia.
Si propone inoltre di far acquisire in aula la metodologia di apprendimento attraverso l’elaborazione di MAPPE CONCETTUALI e/o mentali  e secondo le basi del Problem Based Learning (PBL) su argomenti riguardanti il bambino sano


Inquadramento generale e gestione del bambino sano
Modalità di gestione della cartella clinica, del rapporto medico/genitore/paziente.
Esame obiettivo pediatrico completo
Impostazione dell’alimentazione, degli aspetti preventivi (screening e vaccinazioni); inquadramento e valutazione della crescita e dei parametri pediatrici auxologici e di laboratorio in età  pediatrica
Evidenza di situazioni e condizioni che richiedono attenzione e /o intervento medico immediato o invio a centro specialistico Approccio diagnostico e terapeutico delle più comuni patologie dell’infanzia.  es.Febbre)

FRONTALE

ricorso a MAPPE CONCETTUALI o MENTALI  e approfondimento delle tematiche corredato da materiale iconografico e consultazione della letteratura/fonti di informazione SUI SEGUENTI OBIETTIVI DI APPRENDIMENTO:
 NEONATO (0-28 gg) :cenni sul neonato fisiologico e le  problematiche, indicazioni  pratiche più frequenti alla dimissione dal nido  ASPETTI EVOLUTIVI E   RAZIONALE DELLA NUTRIZIONE ed ALIMENTAZIONE:
-          -allattamento al seno e artificiale: razionale, indicazioni, controindicazioni  
 -             lo svezzamento, razionale, indicazioni,
-          -alimentazione nel 1 anno di vita, cenni per età pre e scolare, adolescenza    
        e in attività fisica, razionale, indicazioni.
Considerazione e valutazione di differenti abitudini o regimi dietetici alternativi
INTEGRAZIONI raccomandate nel 1° anno di vita secondo le evidenze
LA CRESCITA: sviluppo (generale somatico e puberale, fisiologico) Razionale, applicazione ed interpretazione dei percentili e dei parametri di crescita in età pediatrica, anche secondo parametri familiari, genetici ed etnici)
ESAME OBIETTIVO PEDIATRICO, CLINICO E STRUMENTALE: (razionale e misurazione dei parametri vitali, esame otoscopico, misurazione della temperatura,) peculiarità che lo caratterizzano rispetto all’adulto e aspetti di rilievo in età pediatrica
ESAME NEUROLOGICO, RIFLESSI E TAPPE DELLO SVILUPPO PSICOMOTORIO, (compresi linguaggio, interazione ambientale) in particolare nel primo anno, con cenni nelle età successive sino all’adolescenza
BILANCI DI SALUTE: razionale ed applicazioni
SCREENING NEONATALI E DEL PRIMO ANNO DI VITA: razionale ed applicazioni secondo le evidenze
VACCINAZIONI razionale, ed applicazioni secondo le evidenze
IDENTIFICAZIONE DEI PRINCIPALI PROBLEMI ORTOPEDICI in età pediatrica
LA DENTIZIONE, LE OCCLUSIONI: la normalità e l’intercettazione delle principali problematiche; le prescrizioni preventive o di invio allo specialista

LETTURA ED INTERPRETAZIONE in età pediatrica di EMOCROMO, FUNZIONALITA’ EPATICA, ESAME URINE ED URINOCOLTURA
per riconoscere, gestire direttamente o inviare allo specialista
PRESCRIZIONI PEDIATRICHE PIÙ importanti e FREQUENTI: come impostare e prescrivere farmaci, indicazioni alimentari/ dietetiche o di altro genere

FREQUENZA AMBULATORIALE

- AFFIANCARE il pediatra di famiglia (1:1) nel lavoro quotidiano di presa in carico  del piccolo paziente secondo  principi basati sulle evidenze scientifiche e sulla definizione di priorità,
- PARTECIPAZIONE   ATTIVA A TUTTE LE FASI DELLA VISITA
(anamnesi, esame obiettivo) 
-OSSERVAZIONE del rapporto continuativo con il bambino e la sua famiglia: l'ascolto, promozione dell’alleanza terapeutica e responsabilizzazione dei genitori.
- CONOSCENZA DELLE INDICAZIONI relative a prevenzione, diagnosi, consigli di comportamento, prescrizioni delle cure
-ACQUISIZIONE   della necessità/capacità di informare e rendere partecipe il paziente della sua storia di malattia e di cura
CONOSCENZA delle modalità di rapporto e contatto con le forme assistenziali presenti sul territorio                                 

Iscrizione al 5 anno di corso

FRONTALE : -  abitualmente in aula, suddivisione degli studenti in gruppi di lavoro sotto  la guida di tutor, disponibile ad ulteriore  approfondimento delle tematiche , secondo un  metodo di elaborazione e successiva presentazione collegiale  del lavoro svolto su specifici obiettivi di apprendimento attraverso la creazione delle MAPPE CONCETTUALI o MENTALI e sviluppo di argomentazioni pediatriche con materiale iconografico-argomentativo
Se in periodo di emergenza COVID, in presenza o da remoto secondo le direttive di Ateneo.

The Pediatric Course, divided into two years ( 5th and 6th), in the 2nd semester of the 5th yr provides an   INTERNSHIP which  aims the students to learn the following topics: by attending a pediatric outpatient clinic ( family doctor) and  lectures according to the updated bibliography and aspects of multiculturalism

-the skills for a non-specialist-physician in order to deal with the most common pediatric problems concerning the healthy child and its growth, both in the clinical practice and in the preventive field, considering the differences according to different ages.

-the basic  knowledge in order  to identify situations requiring prompt medical intervention or reference  to the specialist on problems concerning  the pediatric area

-hints of diagnostic and therapeutic approach of the most common pediatric disorders 

 As well, it’s  proposed a learning method by the use of concept  or mental maps MAPS and according to  the Problem Based Learning (PBL) on topics regarding the healthy child


General framework and management of healthy child
How to manage the medical records, the doctor/parent/patient relationship.
Complete pediatric  examination
Setting of the feeding, of the preventive aspects (screening,vaccinations); evaluation of growth and laboratory tests in the pediatric age.
Evidence of conditions requiring  attention and / or immediate medical intervention or referral to a
specialist/consultant Diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the most common diseases of childhood. (eg fever)

LECTURES

Maps  and in-depth analysis of themes, enhanced by  imaging and readings ( bibliography / information sources), ON THE FOLLOWING LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
 NEWBORN (0-28 days): the physiological newborn (hints) and the  most frequent problems and useful practical advices  at discharge from the hospital nursery
Main ASPECTS OF NUTRITION (rationale and recommendations)
-  - Breast and artificial milk
-  -weaning, ,
-  -feeding in 1 year of life,
   -until school age, adolescence(hints)      and in physical activity (hints)
Evaluation of  main different habits or alternative diet regimens
SUPPLEMENTS recommended in the 1st year of life according to the evidence
GROWTH: physiological development (general, physical and pubertal, according on genetics and ethnicities, too). Use  of percentiles and knowledge of  the main  growth standard measurements in the pediatric age PEDIATRIC CLINICAL AND  OBJECTIVE EXAM:
(rationale and measurement of main vital signs , temperature, ear and mouth  examination,) and the differences  if compared to adults and typical, relevant in the pediatric age
NEUROLOGICAL EXAM:  MAIN REFLEXES and  STAGES OF PSYCHOMOTOR DEVELOPMENT, (including
speech, environmental and social interaction)  in the first year, (hints  in the following ages until adolescence)
HEALTH MANTEINANCE VISITS: rationale and implementations
NEONATAL / FIRST YEAR OF LIFE SCREENING TESTS: rationale and implementations  according to the evidence
VACCINATIONS, rationale and implementations  according to the evidence
FOCUS TO  THE MAIN ORTHOPEDIC PROBLEMS in pediatric age
TEETHING: physiological development  and the interception of the main pathologies and occlusive  problems; the preventive requirements or criteria for  the  specialist/consultant referee
Main topics about SPORT ACTIVITY IN PEDIATRIC AGE
 
Evaluation in the pediatric age of EMOCROMO, LIVER FUNCTION, URINE EXAMINATION AND
URINOCOLTURE, in order to recognize, manage  or send to the specialist/consultant referee
Most important  PEDIATRIC PRESCRIPTIONS: how to set and prescribe drugs, dietary  and so on.

GENERAL PEDIATRIC outpatient CLINIC ATTENDANCE

-   1 student :1 pediatric family doctor in the daily work, based on   principles of scientific evidences and  priorities
-   ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN ALL THE PHASES OF THE MEDICAL VISIT (medical history, objective examination)
-   OBSERVING  the ongoing relationship among the physician ,the child and his family: listening, promoting of the therapeutic alliance and parental commitment and empowering
-   DEVELOPING,CONSIDERING the need / ability to inform and make  the patient  aware and part of  the history of illness and treatment
-   KNOWLEDGE OF INDICATIONS related to
prevention, diagnosis, behavior advice,  prescriptions
KNOWLEDGE of the pathways for the contacts with the reference centers  of assistance / excellence in the surroundings

Enrollment in the 5th year of course

LECTURES: under the guidance of tutor, willing for any other sin-depth analysis concerning the issues addressed , students work into little groups on clear  learning objectives based on a specific method and  on a joint slide show of the work carried out using  MENTAL and  CONCEPT MAPS. Development and discussion on selected topics.
