Obiettivi

Il corso ha l’obiettivo di fornire le basi conoscitive e gli strumenti pratici essenziali per poter riconoscere segni e sintomi delle principali malattie polmonari e pleuriche, verificare le possibili diagnosi differenziali, interpretare gli esami di laboratorio e strumentali e proporre un programma terapeutico e di follow-up.


Contenuti sintetici

Principi diagnostici ed approccio terapeutico di 1) patologie ostruttive respiratorie croniche, 2) insufficienza respiratoria, 3) pneumopatie infiltrative diffuse, 4) infezioni respiratorie, 5) endoscopia respiratoria e procedure pleuriche.


Programma esteso

- Diagnosi e trattamento delle principali patologie ostruttive respiratorie (asma e BPCO) sia nella fase di stabilità che nella fase di riacutizzazione con accenno alle tecniche e terapie per la disassuefazione tabagica;

- Diagnostica differenziale dell’insufficienza respiratoria e suo trattamento;

- Classificazione delle pneumopatie infiltrative diffuse, diagnostica differenziale e relativo trattamento;

- Le infezioni respiratorie ed il loro trattamento;

- Indicazioni diagnostiche e terapeutiche di endoscopia respiratoria e procedure pleuriche.

Conoscenze relative ai corsi propedeutici indicati nel regolamento del corso di laurea


Modalità didattica

Lezioni asincrone (lezione registrata con Kaltura e disponibile su webex; gli studenti possono seguirla in qualsiasi momento); alcuni eventi in videoconferenza sincrona.

Aims

The main goal of the course is to provide students with the pathophyisiologic basis to understand respiratory and pleural diseases, in order to make correlations between the inner mechanisms of diseases and their clinical expression. The student will be able to interpret symptoms, signs and laboratory tests and radiologic and endoscopic investigations. Therapeutic approach and follow-up will also be discussed.


Contents

Diagnosis and treatment of 1) chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, 2) respiratory failure, 3) interstitial lung diseases, 4) lung infections, 5) respiratory endoscopy and pleural procedures.



Detailed program


  • diagnosis and treatment of chronic obstructive respiratory diseases (asthma and COPD) during stable and acute phase; principles of smoking cessation techniques and treatments;

  • differential diagnosis of respiratory failure and relative treatment;

  • classification and differential diagnosis of interstitial lung diseases with focus on specific treatments;

  • respiratory infections and relative treatment;

  • diagnostic and therapeutic indications to respiratory endoscopy and pleural procedures.

Teaching form

E-learning (In the event of pandemic emergency period, the lectures and clinical case/problem discussions will be held remotely by synchronous online videoconference or recorded video lectures available on demand).
