Benvenuti al seminario " Open Access " rivolto agli studenti della Scuola di Dottorato dell'Università di Milano-Bicocca.

Obiettivi del seminario

  • conoscere il retroscena ideologico dell'Open Access; 
  • avere una panoramica delle Dichiarazioni sull'Open Access; 
  • saper distinguere tra i differenti tipi di Open Access e di licenze non commerciali; 
  • sapere quali requisiti deve avere un Open Access per aver diritto a fondi EU, conoscere i servizi correlati all'OA (SHERPA, DOAJ) e i maggiori archivi OA (incluso il BOA);

 Alla fine del seminario sarai in grado di:

  • distinguere i differenti tipi di Open Access;
  • recuperare informazioni sui requisiti che deve avere una pubblicazione OA per poter accedere ai diversi progetti dell'Unione Europea;
  • recuperare contenuti Open Access dai principali archivi dedicati.

The online forum will be held in the language spoken in class (English or Italian).

Objectives

Understanding the philosophy behind open access; overview of Open Access declarations; distinguishing between different types of Open Access and different types of non-commercial licenses; overview of OA requirements for EU funding; OA services in Bicocca; OA-related services (SHERPA, DOAJ, EOSC) and main OA repositories (including BOA); 

At the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Distinguish between different types of OA
  • Retrieve information about OA publishing requirements for EU projects.
  • Gain a deeper knowledge of Open Access services available in Bicocca
  • Retrieve open access literature from the main subject specific repositories

Target audience: Doctoral students at the end of their programme. Participants must have already chosen their research subject or research question for their doctoral thesis with their tutor.

Participants (min/max): Max 35

To be awarded the CFUs, participants must have completed all the online lessons and activities, participate in each forum discussion and take part in at least 1 meeting (either the kick off or the wrap up meeting).

From March 7 until April 1, 2022.

Kick-off meeting on March 7- lab 712 (U7) 

Online lessons: the 4 weeks following the kick-off meeting. Wrap up meeting at the end of March/early April.

The meetings will be held in person if possible, or as web conferences, depending on the health situation.

If the meetings are held in person, a streaming option will still be available for remote users.
