The course will provide a comprehensive overview of human ecology, including the most recent updates to the discipline.

OUTLINE:

- Earth history and the evolutionary history of man;

- Paleo-genetic and human family;

- European ecological history;

- The Anthropocene epoch;

- Environmental surprises and Holling cycles;

- Human dynamics from a population ecology perspective;

- Actual challenges for Human Ecology;

- Ecosystem services concept;

- Ecological footprint and environmental education;

- Political ecology: challenges and perspectives for the Anthropocene epoch.

2 CFU - 16 Hours (Lecture)
