Breve descrizione

Topics of the Fluids in the Earth short course include an introduction to phase equilibria and thermodynamic modeling of C-O-H fluids and silicate melts at pressure and temperature conditions associated to the upper mantle and the Earth crust. The program of this short course will then focus on presenting protocols to study fluid and melt inclusions and on showing their main applications related to a variety of geological environments. The course will also introduce students to advanced analytical techniques to study fluid and melt inclusions such as Raman spectroscopy. Finally, the course will include hands-on activities to apply the information delivered during the course using real databases of fluid and/or melt inclusions associated to specific geological systems.

Evaluation: YES - written exam
