The course will provide information on the underlying mechanisms of action, parameters setting and fields of application of the main non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) and an integrated system combining TMS and electroencephalography (TMS-EEG). Examples of use of these techniques in both research and clinical setting will be provided. Practical sessions in the TMS labs will be held.

Il corso fornisce informazioni sui meccanismi di azione, il funzionamento, i parametri, ed i campi di applicazione delle principali tecniche di stimolazione cerebrale non invasiva, come la Stimolazione Magnetica Transcranica (TMS), la Stimolazione transcranica a corrente diretta (tDCS) e la TMS integrata con elettroencefalografia (TMS-EEG). Verrano forniti esempi di impiego di queste tecniche, sia nell'ambito della ricerca sperimentale che nell'ambito delle applicazioni cliniche. E' prevista una sessione pratica in laboratorio.
