Obiettivi
Lo/a studente/ssa al termine del corso:
- conoscerà la fisiologia della gravidanza, del parto, del puerperio e della lattazione
- acquisirà le competenze clinico assistenziali per la presa in carico della donna e del neonato in un percorso nascita fisiologico
- sarà in grado di descrivere i cambiamenti associati alla gravidanza normale, i fenomeni del travaglio e del parto e la sorveglianza del benessere materno e fetale in travaglio
- sarà inoltre in grado di descrivere i cambiamenti associati al puerperio e alla lattazione normale secondo gli obiettivi di apprendimento identificati dal “Baby Friendly Initiative in University” dell’UNICEF e le caratteristiche e la fisiologia del neonato sano
Contenuti sintetici
Il corso fornisce allo/a studente/ssa le nozioni relative ai processi fisiologici della gravidanza, del parto e del puerperio e le competenze per un’assistenza ostetrica basata sulle prove di efficacia. Il corso fornisce inoltre le competenze per riconoscere il fisiologico adattamento del neonato nel periodo peripartum.

Modalità didattica
L'insegnamento verrà introdotto da una lezione interattiva in presenza, nel corso della quale verranno illustrati contenuti e modalità didattiche dei moduli di insegnamento, nonchè un'attività didattica propedeutica da svolgere in autonomia. Tale attività prevede lo studio autonomo di materiali didattici e il completamento di test di autovalutazione, che saranno entrambi resi disponibili sulla pagina e-learning.

La bibliografia è consultabile nel Syllabus dei singoli moduli che compongono l'insegnamento e i materiali didattici (slides, articoli, tracce di lavoro, articoli scientifici) verranno caricati sulla pagina e-learning dedicata ai singoli moduli.

Modalità di verifica del profitto e valutazione
L'esame finale ha l'obiettivo di accertare l'acquisizione delle conoscenze e la comprensione dei contenuti del programma, verificando la capacità di applicarle con il ragionamento clinico e la pianificazione dell'assistenza.
Ai fini della valutazione sarà considerato anche l'utilizzo della corretta terminologia e di un adeguato linguaggio disciplinare.
Per ulteriori dettagli si rimanda a quanto specificato nei Sillabi delle singole Unità e alle indicazioni che verranno date a lezione.
In considerazione della consistenza e della complessità del programma, è prevista una prima prova in itinere sui contenuti trattati nelle Unità didattiche di Gravidanza e Parto ed una seconda sui contenuti delle Unità Didattiche Puerperio e Neonato. L'esame finale porterà ad una valutazione complessiva dell'insegnamento tenendo conto delle due prove in itinere.
Le due prove in itinere sono organizzate come segue:
Prova in itinere 1 (Gravidanza e Parto)
Si compone di una prova scritta seguita da un colloquio.
L'esame scritto è costituito da domande a risposte chiusa (vero/falso, corrispondenze, quiz a scelta multipla) e a risposta aperta breve, sui contenuti trattati nell'Unità Didattica di Parto
L'esame orale prevede la restituzione dello scritto e un colloquio sui temi affrontati a lezione nelle Unità Didattiche di Gravidanza e Parto.
Prova in itinere 2 (Puerperio e Neonato)
Si compone di una prova scritta seguita da un colloquio.
L'esame scritto è costituito da domande a risposte chiusa (vero/falso, corrispondenze, quiz a scelta multipla) e a risposta aperta breve, sui contenuti trattati in entrambe le Unità Didattiche
L'esame orale prevede la restituzione dello scritto e un colloquio sui temi affrontati a lezione in entrambe le Unità Didattiche.
Prova finale
Consisterà in un colloquio sulle due prove in itinere con eventuali approfondimenti.

Aims
At the end of the course the student:
- will understand the physiology of the pregnancy, of the post natal period and of the breastfeeding
- will be able to plan an evidence based midwifery care to the mother with normal pregnancy/birth and to her newborn
- will understand the changes associated to the normal pregnancy and birth and will be able to verify the maternal and fetal well-being during labour
- will be able to describe the physiological changes during the postnatal period and during breastfeeding according to the UNICEF's "Baby Friendly Initiative in University" and will be able to recognise the characteristics and physiology of the healthy newborn.
Contents
The course provides the students the essential elements to understand the physiology of the pregnancy, of the birth and of the post-natal period and provides the elements to plan an evidence based midwifery care. The course provides to the students the essential elements to understand the physiology about the Neonatal adaptation after birth.

Teaching form
The course will be introduced by an interactive in-person lecture, during which the content and teaching methods of the modules will be explained, as well as a preparatory didactic activity to be carried out independently. This activity involves self-study of teaching materials and completion of self-assessment tests, both of which will be made available on the e-learning page.
Textbook and teaching resource
The bibliography can be consulted in the Syllabus of the individual modules that make up the course, and the teaching materials (slides, articles, work tracks, scientific papers) will be uploaded on the e-learning page dedicated to the individual modules.

Assessment method
The final exam is intended to assess the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the program content, testing the ability to apply it with clinical reasoning and care planning.
The use of correct terminology and appropriate disciplinary language will also be considered for evaluation.
For further details, please refer to what is specified in the individual Unit Syllabi and the directions that will be given during lessons.
In view of the consistency and complexity of the program, there will be a first in itinere test on the content covered in the Pregnancy and Childbirth Teaching Units and a second on the content of the Puerperium and Newborn Teaching Units. The final exam will lead to an overall evaluation of the teaching taking into account the two in itinere tests.
The two in itinere tests are organized as follows:
Ongoing test 1 (Pregnancy and Childbirth).
It consists of a written test followed by an interview.
The written exam consists of closed-ended (true/false, matching, multiple-choice quizzes) and short open-ended questions on the content covered in the Didactic Unit of Childbirth
The oral examination involves the discussion of the written and an interview on the topics covered in the Pregnancy and Childbirth Didactic Units.
Ongoing test 2 (Puerperium and Newborn)
It consists of a written test followed by an interview.
The written exam consists of closed-ended (true/false, matching, multiple-choice quizzes) and short open-ended questions on the content covered in both Didactic Units
The oral examination involves the discussion of the written and an interview on the topics covered in class in both Didactic Units.
Final Examination
Will consist of an interview on the two ongoing tests with possible further discussion.
