Course Syllabus
Obiettivi
Lo/a studente/ssa al termine del corso:
- conoscerà la fisiologia del parto
- acquisirà le competenze clinico assistenziali per la presa in carico della donna e del neonato in un percorso nascita fisiologico
- sarà in grado di descrivere i fenomeni del travaglio e del parto e la sorveglianza del benessere materno e fetale in travaglio.
Contenuti sintetici
Il corso fornisce allo/a studente/ssa le nozioni relative ai processi fisiologici del parto e le competenze per un’assistenza ostetrica basata sulle prove di efficacia.
Programma esteso
- Presa in carico della donna nel percorso diagnostico-terapeutico assistenziale nel parto fisiologico attraverso la midwifery partnership, il midwifery management, la classificazione ICF e le scale di valutazione.
- Definizione di fasi e tempi del travaglio e del parto.
- Psiconeuroendocrinologia del travaglio e del parto.
- Semeiotica ostetrica ed esame obiettivo ostetrico in travaglio e parto.
- I modelli di assistenza ostetrica al travaglio e parto.
- Le cure amiche della madre secondo l’iniziativa UNICEF “Insieme per l’allattamento”.
- Fattori psicologici, emotivi, sociali e culturali del dolore e del parto.
- L’assistenza ostetrica raccomandata per sorvegliare, sostenere e promuovere il benessere materno e feto-neonatale e la normale evoluzione del I II III e IV stadio del parto.
- La prevenzione dei danni perineali.
- Gli strumenti ostetrici per l’assistenza al travaglio parto.
- La documentazione sanitaria e amministrativa.
Prerequisiti
Gli/le studenti/sse riceveranno una bibliografia dettagliata prima dell’inizio delle lezioni. Dovranno studiare il materiale ed essere valutati sull’acquisizione delle competenze di base richieste.

PROVA SCRITTA volta ad accertare l’effettiva acquisizione delle conoscenze teoriche, composta da TEST A RISPOSTE CHIUSE (Scelta a risposta multipla) e domande a risposta APERTA.
Al termine del TEST è previsto e un esame orale.
Non sono previsti esami in itinere.

Aims
At the end of the course the student:
- will understand the physiology of the birth
- will be able to plan an evidence based midwifery care to the mother with normal birth and to her newborn
- will understand the changes associated to the normal birth and will be able to verify the maternal and fetal well-being during labour.
Contents
The course provides the students the essential elements to understand the physiology of the birth and provides the elements to plan an evidence based midwifery care.
Detailed program
The students will be able to plan and to provide an evidence base midwifery care during labour and birth in accordance with the Midwifery Partnership Model, the Midwifery Management, the international Classification Functions and evaluation scales. Definition of phases and times of the labour and birth. Psycho-neuro-endocrinology of the labour and birth. Obstetrical semiotics and objective midwifery examination in labour and birth. Midwifery models of care during labour and birth. The “mother friendly” midwifery care according to the UNICEF initiative "Together for breastfeeding". Psychological, emotional, social and cultural factors related to pain and childbirth. Recommended midwifery care to monitor, to support and to promote maternal-fetal-neonatal well-being and the normal evolution of the first, second, third and fourth childbirth stages. Prevention of perineal damage. Tools for midwifery care during labour and birth. The administrative documentation.
Prerequisites
Students will receive a detailed bibliography before lessons start. They will have to study the material in order to be evaluated on the required basic skills.

Assessment method
WRITTEN TEST aimed at ascertaining the actual acquisition of theoretical knowledge, consisting of CLOSED ANSWER TESTS (multiple choice) and OPEN-REVENTION QUESTIONS.
At the end of the written TEST is scheduled an oral exam.
There are no ongoing examinations.
