STORIA DELLA SCUOLA E DELLE ISTITUZIONI EDUCATIVE
Argomenti e articolazione del corso
Il Corso presenta le coordinate essenziali della storia e dell’evoluzione del sistema scolastico italiano ed europeo per restituire elementi di riflessione storico-critica con l'obiettivo di rendere più consapevoli i docenti delle trasformazioni che hanno definito il profilo della scuola attuale, un’istituzione complessa costituita da spazi, tempi, strumenti didattici, cultura materiale, materie, insegnanti, alunni, genitori e personale tecnico-amministrativo.
L'evoluzione del sistema scolastico e delle istituzioni educative in Italia e in Europa è analizzato sul piano della relazioni con la politica, la società, l'economia, con particolare attenzione allo sviluppo delle istituzioni educative in Italia fra XIX, XX e XXI secolo.
Obiettivi
Il corso si prefigge i seguenti obiettivi di conoscenza e di comprensione:
- Conoscenza delle maggiori trasformazioni storico-educative della scuola italiana dall’ Unità ai giorni nostri, con cenni alle trasformazioni storico-educative della scuola europea;
- Conoscenza del pensiero pedagogico innovativo sul piano della storia delle idee e della sperimentazione nella scuola italiana;
- Conoscenza della storia della formazione degli insegnanti, in particolare i/le docenti delle scuole secondarie;
- Comprensione del rapporto esistente fra il panorama attuale della scuola italiana e la sua storia;
- Comprensione delle principali questioni educative in specifici contesti europei alla luce del periodo storico analizzato;
- Comprensione del nesso tra la concezione dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza e l’assetto educativo-istituzionale via via assunto dalla scuola italiana ed europea.
Metodologie utilizzate
Il corso prevede lezioni frontali, momenti di discussione e altre metodologie attive.
Le lezioni saranno presentate in alcuni casi con l’utilizzo di PowerPoint, brevi filmati, letture scelte, analisi di immagini e documenti.

Una bibliografia facoltativa apposita, per chi desiderasse approfondire le tematiche toccate, verrà messa a disposizione degli studenti interessati.
Programma e bibliografia
Il programma del corso prevede l’erogazione di 3 lezioni di 4 ore ciascuna durante le quali verranno introdotte le seguenti tematiche:
Primo modulo (6 ore – 1 CFU):
La storia della scuola italiana e delle istituzioni educative tra Otto e Novecento
Secondo modulo (6 ore – 1 CFU):
Approfondimenti tematici con particolare attenzione alla formazione insegnanti e ad un confronto tra il contesto italiano e il contesto europeo.
*I e le corsisti/e iscritti/e al solo primo modulo concluderanno la frequenza con l'intervallo della seconda lezione.
Modalità d'esame
È necessaria una percentuale minima di presenza pari al 70 per cento per essere ammesso alla prova finale.

SCHOOL AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS HISTORY
Topics and course structure
The course presents the main coordinates of the history and evolution of the Italian and European school system in order to return elements of historical-critical reflection with the aim of making teachers more aware of the transformations that have defined the profile of today's school, a complex institution made up of spaces, time, teaching tools, material culture, subjects, teachers, students, parents and technical-administrative staff.
The evolution of the school system and educational institutions in Italy and Europe is analyzed in terms of its relationship with politics, society and the economy, with particular attention to the development of educational institutions in Italy between the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.
Objectives
The course has the following knowledge and understanding objectives:
- Knowledge of the main historical-educational transformations of the Italian school from the unification to the present, with reference to the historical-educational transformations of the European school;
- Knowledge of innovative pedagogical thought at the level of the history of ideas and experiments in the Italian school;
- Knowledge of the history of teacher training, especially for secondary school teachers;
- Understanding of the relationship between the current landscape of Italian schooling and its history;
- Understanding of the main educational issues in specific European contexts in the light of the historical period being analyzed;
- Understand the relationship between the concept of childhood and adolescence and the educational-institutional structure that Italian and European schools have gradually adopted.
Methodologies
The course will include lectures, discussion time, and other active methods.
Lectures will be presented in part through the use of PowerPoint, short films, selected readings, and analysis of images and documents.
Online and offline teaching materials
In-depth materials will be made available on the course's e-learning platform.
A special optional bibliography for those who wish to delve deeper into the topics covered will be made available to interested students.
Programme and references
The syllabus consists of 3 lectures of 4 hours each, with the following topics:
First module (6 hours - 1 CFU) - The history of Italian schools and educational institutions between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Second module (6 hours - 1 ECTS) - Thematic insights with a focus on teacher training and a comparison between the Italian and European contexts.
Students enrolled only in the first module will complete their attendance with the break in the middle of the second day.
Assessment methods
In order to be admitted to the final exam, a minimum attendance rate of 70 percent is required.
