Obiettivi

Il corso ha l’obiettivo di fornire le basi conoscitive e gli strumenti pratici essenziali per poter riconoscere segni e sintomi delle principali malattie polmonari e pleuriche, verificare le possibili diagnosi differenziali, interpretare gli esami di laboratorio e strumentali e proporre un programma terapeutico e di follow-up.

Contenuti sintetici

Principi diagnostici ed approccio terapeutico di 1) patologie ostruttive respiratorie croniche, 2) insufficienza respiratoria, 3) pneumopatie infiltrative diffuse, 4) infezioni respiratorie, 5) ipertensione arteriosa polmonare, 6) tumore polmonare, 7) apnee ostruttive del sonno

Programma esteso

  • Diagnosi e trattamento delle principali patologie ostruttive respiratorie (asma e BPCO) sia nella fase di stabilità che nella fase di riacutizzazione con accenno alle tecniche e terapie per la disassuefazione tabagica;

  • Diagnostica differenziale dell’insufficienza respiratoria e suo trattamento con ossigenoterapia e ventilazione non invasiva;

  • Classificazione delle pneumopatie infiltrative diffuse, diagnostica differenziale e relativo trattamento;

  • Le infezioni respiratorie acute e croniche ed il loro trattamento;

  • Indicazioni diagnostiche e terapeutiche per l'ipertensione arteriosa polmonare e delle apnee ostruttive del sonno

  • Diagnostica e terapia dei tumori polmonari.

Conoscenze relative ai corsi propedeutici indicati nel regolamento del corso di laurea

Aims

The course aims to provide the knowledge base and essential practical tools to be able to recognize signs and symptoms of the main pulmonary and pleural diseases, verify possible differential diagnoses, interpret laboratory and instrumental tests and propose a therapeutic and follow-up program.

Contents

Diagnostic principles and therapeutic approach of 1) chronic obstructive respiratory diseases, 2) respiratory failure, 3) diffuse infiltrative pneumopathies, 4) respiratory infections, 5) pulmonary arterial hypertension, 6) lung cancer, 7) obstructive sleep apnea

Detailed program

  • Diagnosis and treatment of the main obstructive respiratory diseases (asthma and COPD) both in the stability phase and in the exacerbation phase with reference to the techniques and therapies for smoking cessation;

  • Differential diagnosis of respiratory failure and its treatment with oxygen therapy and non-invasive ventilation;

  • Classification of diffuse infiltrative pneumopathies, differential diagnosis and related treatment;

  • Acute and chronic respiratory infections and their treatment;

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic indications for pulmonary arterial hypertension and obstructive sleep apnea

  • Diagnosis and treatment of lung tumors.

Prerequisites

Knowledge related to the preparatory courses indicated in the degree course regulations
