Modalità didattica
8 ore di didattica erogativa nella parte iniziale della lezione, nella parte finale didattica interattiva con casi clinici, esercizi e FAQs mirati alla rielaborazione clinico-pratica delle nozioni illustrate nella parte iniziale. Tutte le attività sono svolte in presenza.

15 DOMANDE A RISPOSTE CHIUSE (Quiz a scelta multipla)
Le domande del test sono volte ad accertare l’effettiva acquisizione sia delle conoscenze teoriche trattate in aula, sia la capacità di ragionamento e applicazione in casi pratici. 2 punti per ogni risposta corretta.
COLLOQUIO: l'obiettivo del colloquio è primariamente la restituzione ed il commento della prova scritta. La studentessa/lo studente ha la possibilità di aumentare il punteggio ottenuto con la prova scritta con un breve colloquio orale facoltativo di approfondimento

TYPES OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTS IN GENETICS: APPLICATIONS, ADVANTAGES AND LIMITATIONS
- cytogenetics
- molecular cytogenetics (FISH and ARRAY CGH)
- molecular genetics: old and new generation sequencing
GENETIC COUNSELLING - theoretical, empirical and modified risks
- ethical and social aspects
GENETIC TESTS - classification: diagnostic, pre-symptomatic, predictive
- appropriateness of genetic testing
GENOMIC DISEASES AND COMPLEX DISEASES
INVASIVE AND NON-INVASIVE PRENATAL DIAGNOSIS

Teaching form
8 hours of lectures. In the final part of the lesson interactive teaching with clinical cases discussion, exercises and FAQs aimed to reinforce the notions illustrated in the initial part of the lesson. All the lessons will be frontal.

Assessment method
15 CLOSED ANSWER QUESTIONS (multiple choice).
The test questions are designed to ascertain the actual acquisition of both the theoretical knowledge covered in the lecture and reasoning skills on case analyses based on the concepts learned will be assessed. Two points for each corrected answer. "
INTERVIEW: The objective of the interview is primarily to return and comment on the written test. The student has the opportunity to increase the score obtained from the written test with a short optional in-depth oral interview
