Al termine del corso, gli studenti avranno acquisito una comprensione di base della teoria della probabilità, dell'inferenza statistica e delle prestazioni dei test diagnostici, con applicazioni in ostetricia.

- Cenni di calcolo delle probabilità.
- Il campionamento e l’inferenza statistica.
- Introduzione alla stima puntuale e intervallare.
- La sensibilità e la specificità di un test di screening.
- (se il tempo lo consente) verifica delle ipotesi statistiche

The course provides the fundamentals of probability theory, statistical inference, and diagnostic test performance, with applications in obstetrics.

- Hints of probability assessment.
- Sampling and statistical inference.
- Introduction to point and interval estimation.
- The sensitivity and specificity of a screening test.
- (if times allows), statistical hypothesis testing
