Obiettivi formativi

Il corso di Informatica e Programmazione per il Turismo (42 ore) intende fornire le conoscenze fondamentali teoriche e pratiche della tecnologia dell'informazione e delle basi della programmazione, contestualizzandole nel settore turistico. Al termine del corso lo studente conseguirà i seguenti risultati di apprendimento:

  • Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione (Knowledge and understanding):
  • Comprendere i principi fondamentali dell'informatica, della rappresentazione dell'informazione e dell'algebra di Boole.
  • Comprendere la struttura di base di un sistema di elaborazione (hardware, software e sistemi operativi) e il concetto di algoritmo.
  • Conoscere la sintassi di base e le strutture di controllo del linguaggio di programmazione Python.
  • Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione (Applying knowledge and understanding):
  • Tradurre problemi di natura logico-computazionale in diagrammi di flusso utilizzando software dedicati (es. AlgoBuild).
  • Scrivere, testare ed eseguire semplici programmi in Python per la risoluzione di problemi applicativi o di elaborazione dati.
  • Utilizzare l'ambiente di sviluppo/editor per la stesura e il debugging del codice.
  • Autonomia di giudizio (Making judgements):
  • Valutare ed individuare la struttura algoritmica più idonea per risolvere un dato problema informativo.
  • Selezionare ed utilizzare in autonomia gli strumenti software e gli ambienti di sviluppo più adatti alle proprie esigenze di lavoro o di studio.
  • Abilità comunicative (Communication skills):
  • Utilizzare con proprietà il linguaggio tecnico scientifico dell'informatica e della programmazione.
  • Saper descrivere la logica e il funzionamento di un algoritmo o di uno script di codice in modo chiaro ed esaustivo.
  • Capacità di apprendimento (Learning skills):
  • Sviluppare la capacità di approfondire in autonomia nuovi linguaggi, librerie o strumenti software non trattati esplicitamente a lezione.
  • Utilizzare in modo autonomo documentazione tecnica, risorse online e materiali multimediali per l'auto-apprendimento e il problem solving.

Contenuti sintetici

Il corso è strutturato in due parti principali integrate tra loro:

  • Fondamenti di Informatica e Architettura dei Calcolatori: introduzione alla rappresentazione dei dati, all'algebra di Boole, all'hardware, al software e ai sistemi operativi.
  • Algoritmi e Programmazione in Python: introduzione al pensiero computazionale e allo sviluppo logico mediante diagrammi di flusso (AlgoBuild), seguita dall'apprendimento delle strutture fondamentali del linguaggio Python per l'elaborazione dei dati e l'automazione di problemi di ambito turistico-aziendale.

Programma esteso

Modulo 1: Principi dell'Informatica e Sistemi di Elaborazione (circa 14 ore)Introduzione all'informatica e al trattamento automatico dell'informazione.

  • Rappresentazione dell'informazione: codifica binaria (testo, numeri, multimedialità).
  • Elementi di Algebra di Boole e logica proposizionale.
  • Architettura del calcolatore: hardware (CPU, memoria, periferiche) e software.
  • Sistemi operativi e gestione del file system.

Modulo 2: Algoritmi e Progettazione Logica (circa 6 ore)Concetto di algoritmo e proprietà fondamentali.

  • Modellazione di algoritmi tramite diagrammi di flusso (flowchart).
  • Esercitazioni pratiche di progettazione algoritmica con AlgoBuild.

Modulo 3: Programmazione in Python (circa 22 ore)Introduzione al linguaggio Python e ambienti di sviluppo (editor/IDLE).

  • Sintassi di base: variabili, tipi di dati (interi, float, stringhe, booleani) ed operatori.
  • Strutture di controllo condizionali (if, elif, else).
  • Strutture iterative/cicli (while, for).
  • Strutture dati sequenziali essenziali (liste e stringhe).
  • Introduzione alla lettura/scrittura di file e manipolazione di semplici dati (applicati ad esempi reali del settore turistico, es. gestione prenotazioni o analisi dati di flusso).

Prerequisiti

Nessuno in particolare.
Può essere utile un minimo di conoscenza basilare nell'uso del computer, specie domestico.

Metodi didattici

Le lezioni si svolgeranno in presenza presso i laboratori di informatica di ateneo, secondo la schedulazione predisposta.
Eventuali difformità saranno comunicate a mezzo piattaforma di e-learning.
Lo studente può scegliere, se lo ritiene, di usare anche un dispositivo personale diverso da quanto presente in aula durante la regolare attività didattica, che consenta di operare secondo le attività previste dal corso.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

L'esame si svolge in modalità pratica e scritta presso il laboratorio informatico e prevede:

  • Quesiti a risposta chiusa/aperta breve: volte a verificare le conoscenze e capacità di comprensione relative ai principi generali dell'informatica, architettura hardware/software, algebra di Boole e sistemi operativi.
  • Esercizio di progettazione algoritmica: volto ad accertare la capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione e l'autonomia di giudizio attraverso la rappresentazione grafica di un algoritmo (es. tramite AlgoBuild).
  • Esercizio di programmazione in Python: volto a valutare la capacità applicativa, la correttezza sintattica/semantica e la capacità di apprendimento/debugging del codice scritto direttamente al calcolatore.
    La valutazione complessiva terrà conto della correttezza concettuale, dell'efficacia della soluzione algoritmica proposta e della proprietà di linguaggio tecnico mostrata.
    Globalmente la prova dura 60 minuti.

Nessun testo obbligatorio nè consigliato.
Il docente fornisce dispense e altro materiale utile alla preparazione direttamente nella piattaforma di e-learning.
Nulla vieta allo studente di valutare liberamente altri supporti allo studio.
Il docente, per libera scelta, mette a disposizione di tutti gli studenti le videoregistrazioni già realizzate durante altre attività accademiche formative, di cui dispone, su una parte degli argomenti proposti. Non c'è la parte di programmazione. I file si trovano sul cloud, unitamente ad altri video che non sono di interesse per il corso (da ignorare).

Periodo di erogazione dell'insegnamento

Primo semestre dell'anno accademico 26-27, secondo il calendario definito dall'ateneo.

Learning objectives

The Computer Science and Programming for Tourism course (42 hours) aims to provide the fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge of information technology and the basics of programming, contextualizing them within the tourism sector.

By the end of the course, students will achieve the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge and understanding:

    Understand the fundamental principles of computer science, information representation, and Boolean algebra.

    Understand the basic structure of a computing system (hardware, software, and operating systems) and the concept of an algorithm.

    Know the basic syntax and control structures of the Python programming language.

Applying knowledge and understanding:

    Translate logical-computational problems into flowcharts using dedicated software (e.g., AlgoBuild).

    Write, test, and execute simple Python programs to solve application or data processing problems.

    Use development environments/editors for writing and debugging code.

Making judgements:

    Evaluate and identify the most suitable algorithmic structure to solve a given information problem.

    Independently select and use software tools and development environments best suited to one's study or work requirements.

Communication skills:

    Properly use the technical and scientific terminology of computer science and programming.

    Clearly and comprehensively describe the logic and operation of an algorithm or code script.

Learning skills:

    Develop the ability to independently explore new languages, libraries, or software tools not explicitly covered in class.

    Independently utilize technical documentation, online resources, and multimedia materials for self-directed learning and problem-solving.

Contents

The course is structured into two main integrated parts:

Fundamentals of Computer Science and Computer Architecture: An introduction to data representation, Boolean algebra, hardware, software, and operating systems.

Algorithms and Python Programming: An introduction to computational thinking and logical development through flowcharts (AlgoBuild), followed by learning the core structures of the Python language for data processing and the automation of business and tourism-related tasks.

Detailed program

Module 1: Fundamentals of Computer Science and Computing Systems (approx. 14 hours)

Introduction to computer science and automated information processing.

Information representation: binary encoding (text, numbers, multimedia).

Elements of Boolean algebra and propositional logic.

Computer architecture: hardware (CPU, memory, peripherals) and software.

Operating systems and file system management.

Module 2: Algorithms and Logic Design (approx. 6 hours)

Concept of algorithm and fundamental properties.

Algorithm modeling via flowcharts.

Practical exercises in algorithmic design using AlgoBuild.

Module 3: Python Programming (approx. 22 hours)

Introduction to the Python language and development environments (editors/IDLE).

Basic syntax: variables, data types (integers, floats, strings, booleans), and operators.

Conditional control structures (if, elif, else).

Iterative structures/loops (while, for).

Essential sequential data structures (lists and strings).

Introduction to file input/output (read/write) and simple data manipulation (applied to real-world examples from the tourism sector, e.g., booking management or visitor flow data analysis).

Prerequisites

No one in particular.
A basic knowledge of computer use, especially for home use, may be helpful.

Teaching methods

Classes will be held in person at the university's computer laboratories, according to the scheduled timetable.
Any discrepancies will be communicated via the e-learning platform.
The student may choose, if they wish, to use a personal device different from what is available in the classroom, which allows them to carry out the activities required by the course.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of a practical and written test held in the computer laboratory and includes:

Multiple-choice / Short open-ended questions: aimed at assessing knowledge and understanding regarding the general principles of computer science, hardware/software architecture, Boolean algebra, and operating systems.

Algorithmic design exercise: aimed at evaluating the ability to apply knowledge and understanding as well as making judgements through the graphical representation of an algorithm (e.g., using AlgoBuild).

Python programming exercise: aimed at assessing application skills, syntactic/semantic correctness, and the ability to learn and debug code directly on the computer.

The overall assessment will consider conceptual correctness, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithmic solution, and the appropriate use of technical terminology.

The total duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

Textbooks and Reading Materials

No mandatory or recommended text.
Teacher provides handouts and other useful material for preparation directly on the e-learning platform.
Nothing prevents the student from freely evaluating other study aids.
The teacher, by free choice, makes available to all students the video recordings already made during other formative academic activities, which he has, on a part of the proposed topics. There is no programming part. The files are on the cloud, along with other videos that are not of interest for the course (to be ignored).

Semester

First semester of the academic year 26-27, according to the calendar set by the university.
Any changes will still be communicated by the teacher via the e-learning platform.
