Section outline

  • THE PROCEDURE

Students are automatically assigned a default study plan when they enroll in the 1st year. Afterwards, students must hand in their own individual study plan with all the suggested courses they plan to take as well as their electives. Study plans are approved by the Didactic Coordination Council or by the Departmental Council. The deadline and format of the study plan are outlined by the university. Students’ rights to take exams depend upon those courses being included in the most recently approved study plan.

It is therefore necessary to first make a choice between two schemes, choosing between a "pre-approved plan" or a "not-pre-approved plan."

    - The pre-approved plan: is automatically approved at the end of the submission period (in the first working day) and the exams are immediately available onto the booklet.
The pre-approved plan scheme allows students to select 8 CFU/ECTS to be chosen from a broad but LIMITED list of exams belonging to the Master's Degree Courses of the Department of Psychology.

    - The not-pre-approved plan (with potential supernumerary exams).
Through this plan, it is possible to choose exams to be added to the study plan by choosing from ALL the University Master's Degree Courses (apart from a few exceptions related to all degree courses belonging to the Department of Medicine and the single-cycle Master's degree course in Primary Education Sciences).
Through this plan, students may also include CFU/ECTS gained in previous academic studies.
However, students should be aware that in order to be added onto the booklet, exams are to be approved by the delegated Department Commission. The timeline for approval is usually within a month before the submission deadline.
Finally, through this plan it is possible to choose a maximum of 16 additional CFU/ECTS, (defined as "supernumerary activities"), exceeding hence the standard number of 120 CFU/ECTS.
Nonetheless, it is to be noted that the supernumerary activities are not included in the calculation of the average of the exams, being however regularly recorded onto the booklet for career purposes.

At the end of the procedure, the Study Plan needs to be confirmed. A Study Plan which remains in draft form, will not be taken into consideration.

Students who are out-of-course and those who graduate in February-March 2024 and who did not renovate their subscription to the new academic year cannot use the online form, but need to write a mail to segr.studenti.psicologia@unimib.it, using their official address (@campus.unimib.it), the subject being "Request to Change Study Plan".

    They need to attach

    Statement form, indicating:

    1. Codes and names of the activities they wish to remove
    2. Codes and names of the activities they wish to include
    3. Specify for each exam if this is an elective or mandatory exam.
    4. A copy of the latest Study Plan, that they can download from segreterieonline.

Students who graduate by febbraio-marzo 2025 can change up to 24 CFU/ECTS until their latest approved Study Plan. Statement forms will be evaluated at the end of the timeframe allowed for their presentation. The timeline for approval is usually within a month before the submission deadline.
