  • International Mobility Programmes

Erasmus+ for the European Mobility for study purposes: The Erasmus+ Programme envisions a call for the students of the Department of Psychology of the University of Milano-Bicocca who intend to spend a mobility period in Europe. For a period of at least 3 months and no longer than 12 months, students will be able to carry out study activities equivalent to the ones included in their course of study at one of the foreign Universities with which the Department has entered into a specific Erasmus bilateral agreement. The Erasmus+ for the European Mobility programme for study purposes is intended for the students of the Bachelor Degree, the Master’s Degree, and the Doctorate Degree courses (depending on the venues, as specified in the International Mobility section of the University of Milano-Bicocca website).

You may apply for the mobility period abroad within the Erasmus+ for the European Mobility programme for study purposes by participating in a call for admission with reference to a specific academic year. The applicants will be assessed orally by the Erasmus Committee of the Department of Psychology based on their language skills, motivation, and curriculum vitae. The Committee will rank the students and assign a destination to the candidates admitted to the Erasmus programme. Each student must fill in a Learning Agreement, with the support of a Tutor (a member of the Erasmus Committee of the Department). The Tutor will follow the student for the entire period (before, during, and after his/her stay) with regard to the academic aspects, while the International Mobility Office of the University of Milano-Bicocca will support the student for all the aspects relating to travelling and staying abroad.

The participating students will be deemed fully enrolled in the foreign hosting University, which will not request any fees or contributions whatsoever (for attendance, registering for exams, matriculation, use of laboratories or libraries, etc.), except for a possible contribution to the secretarial expenses and insurance. On the other hand, the participating students will continue to pay to the University of Milano–Bicocca the fees and contributions due for the academic year of their stay abroad.

With regard to the venues contracted for the Psychology Subject Area, please refer to the International Mobility section of the University of Milano–Bicocca website.

Two additional mobility programmes are also offered:

      • the Erasmus Traineeship Programme offers scholarships to university students (attending Bachelor Degree and Master’s Degree courses) who intend to do an internship in universities or companies operating in the private or public field, or in research centres located in the participating EU countries. The programme also allows the participating students to spend a study period abroad for the purpose of preparing their master’s degree thesis. In order to apply for an Erasmus Traineeship scholarship, students must identify a tutor at the University of Milano-Bicocca and a tutor at the selected venue with whom they will agree upon the Learning Agreement for Traineeship, which consists of a programme of the internship to be done abroad.

The Traineeship programme allows the participating students to spend a period of 2-12 months abroad.

      • The University Extra-Exchange Programme is intended for the students (completing Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree courses) who intend to do an internship abroad for a 1-6 month period in the universities or research centres located outside the EU that have entered into an international cooperation framework agreement with the University of Milano-Bicocca that envisions student exchanges or a specific Host Agreement for Exchange Students. This programme allows the participating students to spend a period abroad for the purpose of preparing their master’s degree thesis (co-tutored thesis) in universities or research centres located outside the EU. Two tutoring teachers will be identified for each candidate: one from the University of Milano-Bicocca, who will also act as the senior research officer with reference to the agreement and the mobility period abroad, the other one from the hosting foreign University. In case of a co-tutored thesis, the teacher from the University of Milano-Bicocca, who is the Thesis Supervisor, will identify the co-supervisor abroad and will maintain contact during the Programme.
