Dear Students,
As part of the Causal Networks course, you will have access to some commented research papers that connect theoretical concepts to practical applications.
Around the 15th of each month (October, November, and December), you will find one or two commented research papers covering topics from the course and their applications to real-world scenarios.
These papers are provided as additional reference materials to support your understanding and to serve as examples for the applied paper you will be asked to present during the oral examination.
The contents will follow the topics covered in the theoretical lectures:
-
October: Causal Inference from Real-World Observational Data
-
November: Causal Inference When Basic Assumptions Are Not Met (Consistency, Positivity, Unconfoundedness)
-
December: Causal Discovery from Temporal Data
You can find the first commented paper in the Additional Material section of the Causal Networks course.
This paper presents a workflow for designing causal studies in the context of real-world observational data, illustrating how to emulate a randomized controlled trial through target trial emulation.
