Dear Students,
Tomorrow the first two seminars of the course will be helded by two PhD candidates of the MADLab Laboratory, Dr. Marco Locatelli and Dr. Niccolò Rocchi.
Here a brief description of the topics that will be addressed:
An Introduction to Partial Identification and Causal Bounds
Marco Locatelli
This seminar explores causal inference when the "no hidden confounders" assumption is violated. We shift from point identification to bounding causal effects, exploring how uncertainty can be quantified rather than ignored.
Unlocking the True Potential of Healthcare Data via Federated Causal Discovery
Niccolò Rocchi
Data sparsity, temporal mechanics, and privacy issues are among the main bottlenecks for inferring robust and generalizable causal relationships from medical data. From a single-source case study to the federated learning setting, this seminar explores the opportunities, challenges, and trade-offs of causal discovery in the healthcare domain.
Wish you a pleasant day
