Contenuti sintetici
Il corso fornisce conoscenze sulle principali
caratteristiche economiche del settore sanitario, sia dal lato della domanda
che dal lato dell'offerta. L'assistenza sanitaria è uno dei settori più
importanti dei sistemi economici moderni, poiché comporta una grande quantità
di risorse pubbliche e/o private e per il suo impatto sulla qualità della vita
della popolazione e, a sua volta, sulla crescita economica. È essenziale
imparare come utilizzare in modo efficiente le crescenti risorse richieste
dalla popolazione e valutare le prestazioni di diverse forme di assicurazione e
di diversi sistemi di assistenza sanitaria, organizzazioni e regolamenti.

25% della votazione finale in base al report. 75%
in base all’esame scritto finale. Il report è un lavoro di gruppo (massimo 3
studenti per gruppo) sulla tematica dell’efficienza ospedaliera su dati consegnati
dal docente. Il report deve essere consegnato entro la fine del primo semestre,
inviandolo via mail al docente. È una presentazione Powerpoint o Keynote di
massimo 20 slides, compresive di tabelle e figure. Va consegnata in formato
pdf, con denominazione del file data dalle iniziali dei cognomi degli studenti
del gruppo in maiuscolo. L’esame finale è una prova scritta, che consiste nel
risponde a due domande aperte sulle tematiche affrontate nel corso. Il tempo a
disposizione per la prova scritta è 1 ora e 30 minuti.

economic relationships in the health sector. (2) Acquire understanding of the
main methods of financing expenditure.
Contents
The course provides knowledge on the main economic
features of the health care sector, both from the demand and supply side.
Health care is one of the most important sector within modern economic systems,
since it involves a large amount of public and/or private resources, and for
its impact on the quality of life of population, and in turn on economic
growth. It is essential to learn how to efficiently utilize the growing
resources demanded by the population, and to evaluate the performance of
different forms of insurance and of different health care-systems and
organizations and regulations.

Assessment method
25% of the final mark based on the report. 75%
based on the final written exam. The report is a group work (maximum 3 students
per group) on the issue of hospital efficiency using data delivered by the
teacher. The report must be delivered by the end of the first semester, sending
it via e-mail to the teacher. It is a Powerpoint or Keynote presentation of up
to 20 slides, including tables and figures. It must be delivered in pdf format,
with the name of the file given by the initials of the surnames of the group
students in capital letters. The final exam is a written test, which consists
of answering two open questions on the topics covered in the course. The time
available for the written test is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
