Contenuti sintetici
Il corso
affronta il dibattito sull’origine ed evoluzione del linguaggio, e della sua
relazione col pensiero, in un’ottica interdisciplinare, presentando nozioni
inerenti la biologia evoluzionistica, la filosofia della mente e del linguaggio
e la linguistica.
Programma esteso
- Le caratteristiche distintive del linguaggio umano.
- I sistemi di comunicazione animali.
- La presenza di specifiche componenti del linguaggio umano in altre specie
- L’Homo Sapiens e i suoi rapporti con le altre forme umane a lui contemporanee.
- Comparsa e evoluzione del linguaggio.
- I parametri della variazione linguistica.
- Linguaggio e sua relazione con la biologia e con la società.
- Linguaggio e cognizione.
- Linguaggio e categorizzazione.

Nessun prerequisito.
Metodi didattici
Nel periodo di emergenza Covid-19 le lezioni si svolgeranno da remoto asincrono con eventi in videoconferenza sincrona per permettere agli studenti di porre domande e interagire in diretta con il docente.
Tutto il materiale (dispense delle lezione e, quando possibile, articoli scientifici e filmati) viene reso disponibile sul sito elearning del corso, perché sia fruibile anche dagli studenti non-frequentanti.
Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L’esame è scritto, e prevede domande aperte volte ad accertare l’effettiva acquisizione delle conoscenze teoriche e la capacità di valutare, riassumere e commentare dibattiti teorici, e di leggere criticamente articoli scientifici.
I criteri di valutazione sono: la correttezza delle risposte, la capacità di argomentare, sintetizzare, creare collegamenti, e leggere criticamente le nozioni apprese.
Per gli studenti che lo richiedano, è previsto anche un colloquio orale, su tutti gli argomenti del corso, che può portare fino a un aumento o decremento di 3 punti sul punteggio dell’esame scritto.
Nel periodo di emergenza Covid-19 le modalità di erogazione dell'esame verranno definite e aggiornate sulla base delle regole di Ateneo.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites.
Teaching methods
During the COVID emergency classes will be pre-recorded but some classes will be live to allow the students to ask questions and interact with the instructor.
The material (slides and, when possible, scientific articles and videos) is made available on the e-learning site of the course, so that it can also be used by non-attending students.
Assessment methods
The exam is written, with open questions to assess the effective acquisition of theoretical notions, the ability to synthesize and evaluate theoretical debates, and to critically read scientific articles.
The evaluation criteria are: the correctness of the answers, the ability to argue, synthesize, create links, and critically read what was learnt.
Upon student’s request, the exam can be completed with an oral examination, on all the course topics.
The modality of such exam will be updated in accordance with the rules for COVID-19 emergency.
Textbooks and Reading Materials
The information on teaching material will be posted on the class website by the beginning of the academic year.
