Lo studente deve sapere: descrivere le diverse fasi del processo radioterapico; definire e descrivere in dettaglio le fasi tecniche dell’impostazione ed esecuzione del trattamento radiante; definire le modalità della corretta integrazione multidisciplinare fra le diverse figure professionali che operano nel reparto di Radioterapia; affinare le modalità di approccio con il paziente oncologico.

L’insegnamento si propone: di fornire allo studente le conoscenze sulle differenti tecniche di irradiazione sia nell’ambito della Radioterapia a fasci esterni sia in quello della Brachiterapia; di fornire allo studente le conoscenze relative al percorso del paziente in Radioterapia

La registrazione dei dati del trattamento.

Brachiterapia: le indicazioni; i dispositivi per i trattamenti endocavitari e per i trattamenti interstiziali; i differenti radioisotopi; modalità di caricamento: pre-loading, after-loading, -remote-loading.

Students should be able to describe the stages of the Radiotherapy, the technical phases of treatment and  the multidisciplinay integration between professional health figures operating in a Radiotherapy Division and improve the relationship with the patient.


The course aims to provide students with the various techniques of irradiation (external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy); it also aims to provide knowledge about the stages of the Radiotherapy



The set-up of the patient: positioning and immobilization.

Imaging in Radiotherapy.

The quality controls.

The recording of treatment data.

Brachytherapy: Indications; devices for intracavitary and interstitial treatment and the different radioisotopes; loading modes: pre-loading, after-loading,-remote-loading.
