Obiettivi formativi
Conoscenza e comprensione
- Le principali tematiche della psicologia della salute analizzate secondo la prospettiva dinamico/clinica
- Fondamenti teorici e applicazioni pratiche della relazione/comunicazione medico paziente
- Analisi e comprensione degli aspetti emotivi, comportamentali e relazionali che riguardano le varie fasi della diagnosi, della cura della malattia e dell’accompagnamento alla morte nel ciclo di vita
- Analisi e comprensione degli aspetti emotivi, comportamentali e relazionali che riguardano l’operatore sanitario
- Analisi delle problematiche inerenti il rapporto con il paziente straniero
- La medicina transculturale
- Capacità di individuare le aree di intervento con particolare attenzione ai fattori di rischio e protezione
- Capacità di applicare diversi modelli d’intervento in funzione delle fasi di sviluppo del paziente e dei bisogni degli operatori sanitari
- Capacità di applicare modelli d'intervento con il paziente straniero
Contenuti sintetici
Saranno analizzate da un punto di vista teorico e pratico le principali tematiche della psicologia clinica della salute dando particolare rilievo all’impatto che le varie fasi di gestione della malattia e della morte ha sul paziente, sui suoi familiari e sugli operatori sanitari. Saranno approfonditi gli aspetti legati al rapporto con il paziente straniero.

- La medicina nella storia: dal modello biologico al modello bio-psico-sociale
- Etica medica e bioetica
- Lo stress e le strategie di coping: la prospettiva dell’operatore sanitario, del paziente e del caregiver
- La malattia nell’arco della vita
- L’impatto che la malattia e le varie fasi del processo terapeutico hanno sul paziente e sui suoi familiari
- L’impatto che la malattia e le varie fasi del processo terapeutico hanno sul medico
- La relazione e la comunicazione tra medico e paziente
- Morte, spiritualità e religione
- Analisi del migrante
- La medicina tradizionale
- Teoria dei complessi e trauma migratorio
- L'esperienza della migrazione fra dimensione individuale e dimensione collettiva.
Prerequisiti
Nessuno in particolare anche se una buona conoscenza
dei fondamenti di psicologia clinica
permette una migliore comprensione e assimilazione dei contenuti del corso.
Metodi didattici
Lezioni frontali, discussione di casi clinici, visione e discussione di documentari e film finalizzati ad approfondire tematiche specifiche, con l’obiettivo di approfondire tematiche specifiche e stimolare l’interesse degli studenti per la materia.
E’ richiesta la partecipazione attiva degli studenti, con l’obiettivo di stimolare le loro capacità analitiche ed espositive; per questo, chi lo desidera può preparare da solo o in coppia con un compagno degli approfondimenti scritti, che saranno valutati in sede di esame, da esporre ai colleghi durante le lezioni con l’ausilio di slide.
Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Nel periodo di emergenza Covid-19 gli esami saranno solo telematici e orali. Verranno svolti utilizzando la piattaforma WebEx e nella pagina e-learning dell'insegnamento verrà riportato un link pubblico per l'accesso all'esame di possibili spettatori virtuali.

Prova scritta con domande a scelta multipla e due domande aperte. Le domande vertono su tutto il programma e su eventuale materiale pubblicato su e-learning. La domanda aperta verte sull’approfondimento di una tematica specifica e intende valutare le capacità analitiche e critiche dello studente oltre che la sua competenza espositiva
La prova orale è opzionale e può essere sostenuta solo se è stata superata la prova scritta.
E’ previsto un esame in itinere per gli studenti frequentanti il corso.

- The main themes of health psychology, discussed in a psychodynamic/clinical perspective
- Theoretical foundations and practical application of doctor/patient relationship and communication
- Analysis and understanding of the emotional, behavioral and relational aspects of the different moments of diagnosis, treatment and helping to face death in the different developmental stages
- Analysis and understanding of the emotional, behavioral and relational aspects of the activity of health workers

- Mastery of communication techniques in health psychology
- Ability to pinpoint the main intervention areas, with a specific attention for risk and prevention factors

Contents
The main themes of clinical health psychology will be discussed, giving a specific attention to the impact that the different phases of the illness can have on the patient, on his family and on health workers. The main themes of the relationship with the immigrant patient

- Medicine in history: from the biological model to the bio-psycho-social model
- Medical ethics and bioethics
- Stress and coping strategies: the perspective of the health workers, of the patient and of the caregiver
- Illness and disease during the different life stages
- The impact that the disease and the different phases of a diagnostic process have on the patient and on his/her relatives
- The impact that the disease and the different phases of the diagnostic process have on the physician
- Relationship and communication between physician and patient
- Analysis of the immigrant patient's psychological profile

Prerequisites
Nothing specific. A good
knowledge of clinical psychology foundations would allow a deeper understanding
of the themes discussed.
Teaching methods
During Covid emergency period lessons will be held in a mixed mode: partial presence and videtaped asynchronous/synchronous lessons

Lectures, discussion of case studies; some documentaries and movies will also be presented and discussed, with the aim of analyzing in depth some issues and of reinforcing the student’s interest for the topic.
Students’ active participation is solicited in order to stimulate analytical and expository skills; therefore, interested students may write a short essay, by themselves cooperating with a a fellow student, and produce a Powerpoint presentation to be discussed with the class. Participation to optional activities contributes to final evaluation.
Assessment methods
During Covid emergency examination will be telematic and oral. It will be used WebEx platform and you will find a public link on teaching e-learning page for virtual audience

A written test including multiple choice questions and two open questions. Questions concern the whole program and also papers published on e-learning
The open question consists in the discussion and analysis of a specific and is aimed to the evaluation of analytical skills and of the ability to discuss critically the subject.
Oral examination is optional and is available only if the written test has been passed.
