Aims
The aim of the course is to provide the student through frontal lectures with the main notions of
epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis
and the most useful diagnostic test,
prognosis and therapy
of the main diseases of the eye and visual apparatus.
Contents
To identify the clinical features of the more frequent ocular diseases.
Detailed program
Anatomy of the eye and phisiology of the visual apparatus.
Inflammatory diseases of the ocular surface.
Principle of optics, ametropic defects of the eye.
Ophthalmic pediatry, strabismus, amblyopia.
Glaucoma and optic neuritis
Ocular manifestation of systemic dyseases
Retinal detachment
Vascular pathology of the eye, age related maculopathy
