Il corso fornisce conoscenze sulle principali
caratteristiche economiche del settore sanitario, sia dal lato della domanda
che dal lato dell'offerta. L'assistenza sanitaria è uno dei settori più
importanti dei sistemi economici moderni, poiché comporta una grande quantità
di risorse pubbliche e/o private e per il suo impatto sulla qualità della vita
della popolazione e, a sua volta, sulla crescita economica. È essenziale
imparare i principali fattori che influenzano la domanda e l'offerta nel settore della salute e come utilizzare in modo efficiente le crescenti risorse richieste
dalla popolazione.

Modalità didattica
L'insegnamento è erogato mediante lezioni frontali. In caso di recrudescenza della situazione pandemica verranno seguite le indicazioni fornite dall'Ateneo. Le lezioni prevedono anche lo svolgimento di esercizi numerici. Parte dell'impegno di formazione dell'insegnamento consiste nella predisposizione di un report relativo ad un articolo scientifico di Health Economics.

Modalità di verifica del profitto e valutazione
20% del voto finale basato su un rapporto su un articolo fornito dall'insegnante. 80% basato sull'esame scritto finale. Il rapporto è un lavoro di gruppo (massimo 3 studenti per gruppo) e deve essere consegnato entro il 9 gennaio 2022, caricandolo nella cartella del rapporto Health Economics in Moodle / eLearning. È una presentazione Powerpoint o Keynote di un massimo di 20 diapositive, tra cui tabelle e figure. Deve essere consegnato in formato pdf, con il nome del file indicato dalle iniziali dei cognomi degli studenti del gruppo in lettere maiuscole in ordine alfabetico. La valutazione ottenuta nel rapporto è valida fino alla primavera del 2023, ossia il termine dell'anno accademico 2021-22 relativamente agli appelli di esame. L'esame finale è una prova scritta, che consiste nel rispondere a una domanda aperta sugli argomenti trattati nel corso e una serie di domande a scelta multipla. Il tempo disponibile per la prova scritta è di 1 ora.

Contents
The course provides knowledge on the main economic features of the health care sector, both from the demand and supply side. Health care is one of the most important activity within modern economic systems, since it involves a large amount of public and/or private resources, and for its impact on the quality of life of population, and in turn on economic growth. It is essential to learn the key factors affecting the demand and the supply of health care and how to efficiently utilize the growing resources demanded by the population.

Teaching form
The teaching is delivered through lectures. In the event of a resurgence of the pandemic situation, the instructions provided by the University will be followed. The lessons also include the performance of numerical exercises. Part of the teaching training effort consists in preparing a report on a scientific article from Health Economics.

Assessment method
20% of the final mark based on a report on a article provided by the teacher. 80% based on the final written exam. The report is a group work (maximum 3 students per group) and must be delivered by 9th January 2022, by uploading it in the Health Economics report folder in Moodle/eLearning. It is a Powerpoint or Keynote presentation of up to 20 slides, including tables and figures. It must be delivered in pdf format, with the name of the file given by the initials of the surnames of the group students in capital letters in alphabetical order. The evaluation obtained in the report is valid until Spring of 2023, i.e., the end of the 2021-22 academic year regarding exams. The final exam is a written test, which consists in answering one open questions on the topics covered in the course and a set of multiple choice questions. The time available for the written test is 1 hour.
