Obiettivi formativi

Il corso offre un approccio tematico alle capacità di acquisizione o lettura, ascolto e conversazione, rilevante per il settore del turismo e dell'ospitalità. Insieme a queste competenze settoriali vengono consolidate sia le capacità comunicative che linguistiche. Il corso fornirà strumenti linguistici, utili per interagire nel contesto del turismo internazionale.

 Lo studente sarà capace di;

 •     Conoscere bene le strutture linguistiche per essere in grado di affrontare le situazioni di comunicazione nel settore turistico e possedere il vocabolario necessario per esprimersi in situazioni sociali, commerciali e commerciali.

•     Approfondire l'uso e la comprensione di una lingua specifica a un livello intermedio-avanzato, al fine di costruire la loro autonomia linguistica in situazioni professionali.

•     Acquisire il vocabolario fondamentale per il settore attraverso gli articoli presentati in classe.

•     Il corso mira a sviluppare la capacità ricettiva della lingua scritta attraverso la pratica delle varie strategie di lettura per affrontare testi di natura specializzata nel settore del turismo.

•     Svilupperà anche le abilità orali attraverso discussioni sui temi trattati in classe (sebbene questo aspetto del corso sarà limitato a causa dell'impatto di Covid-19 sull'approccio didattico). Ha lo scopo di fornire allo studente una solida base linguistica incentrata sulla lingua del settore.

•     Introdurrà e svilupperà anche specifiche capacità di scrittura come; lettere, memo, rapporti ed e-mail.

Nel periodo di emergenza Covid-19 le lezioni si svolgeranno in modalità mista: parziale presenza e lezioni videoregistrate asincrone / sincrone.

 Il corso si prefigge di sviluppare la capacità ricettiva e produttiva della lingua scritta praticando le varie strategie di lettura ad affrontare testi di argomento specialistico in ambito turistico. Questi temi saranno quindi discussi in classe. Mira a fare acquisire allo studente una solida base linguistica incentrata sui linguaggi settoriali, pertinenti alle discipline studiate.

Il processo di globalizzazione dei mercati ha determinato un forte impulso al prodotto “turismo”, ampliandone la gamma delle risorse e richiedendo a chi vi opera capacità professionali aggiornate e competenze sempre più sviluppate. Il turismo è uno dei settori portanti dell'economia italiana e diverrà sempre più importante con l'aumento del tempo libero e della mobilità geografica delle persone. La crescita del settore offre importanti occasioni di lavoro ma impone anche la formazione di operatori qualificati, in grado di comprendere e governare un mercato molto competitivo. Di fronte ad un mercato sempre più complesso e competitivo, in una realtà nella quale i consumatori/ turisti richiedono prodotti nuovi e personalizzati, le imprese turistiche devono affrontare un’innovazione culturale, organizzativa e gestionale tale da supportare un’offerta adeguata. Il mondo dell’ospitalità deve adeguarsi alla costante richiesta di miglioramento della qualità del servizio e deve essere in grado di misurare efficacia ed efficienza dei sistemi di gestione utilizzati in una prospettiva di crescita e sviluppo. Il percorso di studio porterà gli studenti a conoscere come gestire e organizzare i servizi turistici-culturali, con un focus particolare sulla territorialità, dalla sua comunicazione al turismo sostenibile. La padronanza della lingua inglese consente gli studenti di valorizzare loro capacità in ambito nazionale e internazionale.

Gli studenti hanno già raggiunto il livello B2 (Quadro Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue Straniere / Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

 Lezioni in inglese. Lezioni frontali. Letture, discussioni di temi e ascolti. Insieme allo svillupo del vocabolario specifico. 

Nel periodo di emergenza Covid-19 le lezioni si svolgeranno in modalità mista: parziale presenza e lezioni videoregistrate asincrone / sincrone.

L'esame consiste in una prova scritta di 60 domande (60 minuti). L'esame si basa sul materiale trattato nel corso.

Learning objectives

The course offers a thematic approach to the acquisition or reading, listening and speaking skills, relevant to the sector of tourism and hospitality. Along with these sector-related skills both communication and linguistic skills are consolidated. The course will provide linguistic tools, useful for interacting in the context of international tourism. 

 The student will be able to;

 •     Know the language structures well to be able to deal with communication situations in the tourism sector and possess the vocabulary necessary to express oneself in social, business and commercial situations.

•     To deepen the use and understanding of specific language at an intermediate-advanced level, in order to build their linguistic autonomy in professional situations.

•     Acquire the fundamental vocabulary for the sector through the articles presented in the classroom.

•     The course aims to develop the receptive capacity of the written language by practising the various reading strategies to deal with texts of a specialized nature in the tourism field.

•     It will also develop speaking skills through discussions of the themes covered in class (although this aspect of the course will be limited due to the impact of Covid-19 on the didactical approach). It aims to give the student a solid linguistic foundation focused on language of the sector.

•     It will also introduce and develop specific writing skills such as; letters, memos, reports and e-mails.

During the Covid-19 emergency period the lessons might take place in a mixed mode: partial presence and asynchronous / synchronous videotaped lessons.

Detailed program

The process of globalization of markets has given a strong impetus to the product "tourism", expanding the range of resources and by requiring those who work in the sector to continuously update skills and competences. Tourism is one of the leading sectors of the Italian economy and will become increasingly important with the increase in leisure time and geographical mobility of people. The growth of the sector offers significant employment opportunities but also requires the training of qualified operators, able to understand and deal with a very competitive market. Faced with an increasingly complex and competitive sector, a world in which consumers / tourists require new and customized products, tourism enterprises are facing changes in their work cultures, in organization and management in order to provide adequate services to the industry. The hospitality world must adapt to the constant demand for improvement of quality of service and must be capable of measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the management systems used in a perspective of growth and development. The mastery of the English language enables students to enhance their professional validity at national and international levels.
