Obiettivi formativi

Acquisire gli strumenti concettuali e metodologici per lo studio delle relazioni tra 'culture' nella società contemporanea

Acquisire gli strumenti concettuali e metodologici per mettere a fuoco le caratteristiche delle società multiculturali

Acquisire le capacità di analizzare le trasformazioni in senso multiculturale che investono vari ambiti della vita sociale contemporanea 

Acquisire le competenze per elaborare progetti di tipo interculturale



Contenuti sintetici

Si analizzano le trasformazioni in senso multiculturale delle società contemporanee; lo straniero, il razzismo, l'identità e il riconoscimento, le politiche migratorie, le donne migranti, le seconde generazioni, l'associazionismo migratorio, la comunicazione interculturale, il multiculturalismo, il consumo della differenza nello spazio urbano e nella pratica turistica

Programma esteso

Nella prima parte del corso si analizzeranno, in modo critico, i concetti di cultura, straniero e multiculturalismo e si rifletterà sull’intreccio tra le dinamiche identitarie e le forme di riconoscimento, le pratiche comunicative interculturali. La seconda parte del corso è dedicata all’analisi del rapporto tra differenza e spazio pubblico: le politiche migratorie, i modelli di cittadinanza, la partecipazione politica dei migranti, l’affermarsi di una „seconda generazione” di migranti (o di „nuovi italiani”), le donne migranti saranno al centro dell’attenzione. Il corso si concluderà con l’analisi dei significati della differenza all’interno delle pratiche di consumo e del turismo etico.

Metodi didattici

Il corso - che torna in presenza salvo diverse indicazioni a settembre 2021 - prevede sia lezioni frontali sia attività seminariali con esperti/e; si prevedono inoltre lavori in aula di tipo individuale e/o di gruppo.

Learning objectives

To acquire theoretical and methodological tools in order to study intercultural relationships

To acquire theoretical and methodological tools in order to study multicultural societies

To acquire skills to analyze contemporary multicultural transformations 

To acuire skills to elaborate intercultural projects

Contents

Contemporary multicultural transformations, stranger, racism, identity, recognition, intergration policies, second generations, migrant women, migrants associationism, intercultural communication, multiculturalism, commodification of diversity in tourism and cities 

Detailed program

The first part of the course will focus on the concept of culture, stranger, identity, recognition, belonging, intercultural communicative practices; the second part will be devoted to the diversity within the public space: citizenship, intergration policies, migrants' associaionism, migrant women and second generations. The third part will analyze the commodofication of diversity in the touristic experience and in the urban space

Teaching methods

The course - which will return to face-to-face unless otherwise indicated in September 2021 - includes both lectures and seminar activities with experts; individual and/or group work in the classroom is also planned.
