Obiettivi

Prerequisiti

Anatomia normale e speciale dell’apparato stomatognatico

Aims

Aim of the course is to analyze the cranio-cervical and stomatognathic anatomy showing how the different anatomic structures work together to obtain specific functions and in particular chew and swallow

Contents

Analysis of the functions of stomatognathic apparatus analyzing the muscular, articular and teeth’s morphology. This allows to create a relationship between anatomical shape and functionality of the system

Detailed program

Analysis of the movements of mandible, hyoid bone and cervical spline during mandibular movements, chewing and swallowing:

muscular activation

TMJ movements

Relationship between the shape and the function of different teeth

Morfogenic function of the complex tongue-lips-cheeks on the development of the face
