Obiettivi formativi

Learning objectives

The course of Physiology has the aim to favor the comprehension of the mechanisms underlying cognitive alterations in the elderly by discussing the processes that are associated to brain aging.

Contents

This course analyzes the molecular and physiological changes that progressively affect our brain during aging and that are associated to the degeneration of cognitive functions characteristic of aging. Moreover, the course deals with the discussion of pathological conditions, such as neurodegeneration, which are a consequence of the exacerbation of some mechanisms, and of alterations caused by ischemic events.
