Introduction to Grant Writing

Objective of the course is:
• Teach the basic skills of Grant Writing
• Provide an overview of the European projects landscape (Horizon Eu-rope in particular)
• Introduce basic strategies and tools to search for forthcoming calls (e.g. EU Funding&Tender portal)

The course is preceded by a lesson in which some aspects of contemporary science will be illustrated and discussed, from excessive competition for re-search funds and academic positions, to the constant growth of publications, from the uncritical use of bibliometric indexes to ethically questionable be-havior.

After the course, the candidates will be able to approach a project proposal according to the standard sections required by most of the proposal tem-plates, including in particular:
• Objectives
• Methodology (Work Packages, Tasks, Deliverables, Milestones)
• Impact
• Communication, Dissemination, Exploitation
• Project Management

Target audicence
Ph.D students (preferably 3rd year, not binding)
