Obiettivi formativi
Il corso ha l’obiettivo di ripercorrere momenti e forme della violenza sociale e politica nell’età contemporanea e in particolare delle esperienze belliche del ‘900.
Contenuti sintetici
Le lezioni avranno come oggetto le forme della violenza sociale e politica dal 1870 ai giorni nostri. Il principale focus delle lezioni saranno le esperienze della distruzione e dell’elaborazione del trauma nelle guerre mondiali.
Programma esteso
Nel corso delle lezioni si traccerà un quadro delle forme e dei momenti sia della violenza politica (il terrorismo per esempio) che della violenza sociale (come gli scontri di piazza) dalla Comune di Parigi fino ai giorni nostri. Tuttavia è alle esperienze belliche (e specialmente alle guerre mondiali) che verrà dedicata una particolare attenzione. I momenti della “distruzione” come della elaborazione culturale dei conflitti rappresentano infatti luoghi fondamentali della storia contemporanea.
Prerequisiti
Gli studenti devono conoscere gli elementi fondamentali della storia politica e sociale italiana e europea dell’800 e del ‘900.

Learning objectives
The course aims to retrace moments and forms of social and political violence in the contemporary age and in particular the war experiences of the twentieth century.
Contents
The lessons will focus on the forms of social and political violence from 1870 to the present day. The main focus of the lessons will be the experiences of destruction and trauma processing in world wars.
Detailed program
In the course of the lectures, an overview of the forms and moments of both political violence (terrorism for example) and social violence (such as street riots) from the Paris Commune to the present day will be drawn. However, it is to the experiences of war (and especially the world wars) that special attention will be paid. Indeed, the moments of "destruction" as well as of the cultural elaboration of conflicts represent fundamental places in contemporary history.
Prerequisites
Students must know the fundamental elements of the Italian and European political and social history of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Individual exam (without intermediate tests) on the topics covered in class and/or covered in the reference bibliography
