The course provides an overview of the methods of quantitative data collection and analysis most commonly used in social science research.
The course is divided into three modules.
The first module (16-hours) provides a comprehensive introduction to basic econometrics, touching on the following topics: simple and multiple regression model with cross-sectional data; limited dependent variable models; instrumental variables and two-stage least squares.
The second module (8-hours) discusses selected topics in survey methodology.
Finally, the third module (8-hours) illustrates the theory and application of multilevel regression for both com- parative and longitudinal data analysis.
Upon course completion, students should be able to collect and analyze most quantitative data of interest.
