Obiettivi

Lo studente dovrà essere in grado di integrare le conoscenze di base relative al campo delle neuroscienze, oltre ai meccanismi patogenetici, alle prospettive terapeutiche e alle attuali linee di ricerca nell’ambito delle principali malattie del sistema nervoso e cardiovascolare.

Contenuti sintetici

Il corso si propone di contribuire alla formazione di un biotecnologo medico che sia in grado di integrare i principi basilari delle neuroscienze in modo da permettere di comprendere le basi biologiche, i principali meccanismi patogenetici e modelli di studio delle malattie del sistema nervoso e cardiovascolare. I modelli verranno inoltre analizzati sottolineandone le criticità oltre al coinvolgimento nello sviluppo di nuove strategie terapeutiche.

Prerequisiti

Conoscenze di base di anatomia e istologia, fisiologia e patologia generale, neurofarmacologia.

Conoscenze approfondite di biochimica, biologia molecolare e genetica.

Erogativa in presenza: 44 ore totali.

Aims

The student should be able to integrate basic knowledge regarding the field of neuroscience, besides pathogenic mechanisms, therapeutic goals and present research trends in the main nervous system and cardiovascular diseases.

Contents

This course aims at contributing to the training of a medical biotechnologist able to integrate basic principles of neuroscience in order to understand the biological basis, main pathogenic mechanisms and experimental models regarding nervous system and cardiovascular diseases. Models will be analyzed stressing critical aspects and role in the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of anatomy and histology, physiology and general pathology and neuropharmacology.

Advanced knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics.

Teaching form

In-presence erogative: 44 hours total.

Textbook and teaching resource

Slides, scientific papers.

Semester

First semester second year.

Assessment method

Vascular module: Written examination.

Neurological module: Oral examination.
