Contenuti sintetici
Il laboratorio prevede l’acquisizione di competenze specifiche per il sottotitolaggio con particolare attenzione alla sottotitolazione delle lingue dei segni. Nel laboratorio verranno presentati concetto e vincoli della sottotitolazione e illustrate alcune regole di base sulla dimensione tecnica della sottotitolazione (spotting, segmentazione, sincronizzazione, ecc.). Verranno inoltre acquisite, attraverso l’esercitazione pratica, tecniche base di adattamento linguistico ponendo attenzione a garantire il rispetto per sfumature, registri ed espressioni idiomatiche della lingua originale e di quella di arrivo.

Prerequisiti
Conoscenza della lingua dei segni italiana e dimestichezza con l’utilizzo di sistemi operativi come Windows, macOS.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Non è previsto un esame finale, tuttavia al termine del laboratorio gli/le studenti/studentesse devono dimostrare di essere in grado di padroneggiare da soli un breve incarico sottotitolazione (trascrizione, traduzione, segmentazione e spotting) di un contenuto audiovisivo.

Contents
The workshop provides for the acquisition of specific subtitling skills with a focus on sign language subtitling. The workshop will present the concept and constraints of subtitling and illustrate some basic rules on the technical dimension of subtitling (spotting, segmentation, synchronisation, etc.). In addition, basic linguistic adaptation techniques will be acquired through practical exercises, taking care to ensure respect for the nuances, registers and idiomatic expressions of the original and target languages.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of Italian sign language and familiarity with the use of operating systems such as Windows, macOS.
Teaching methods
Interactive teaching: 32 hours
Assessment methods
There is no final examination, however at the end of the workshop the students must demonstrate that they are able to master a short subtitling assignment (transcription, translation, segmentation and spotting) of audiovisual content on their own.
