Obiettivi

Ci si attende che lo studente acquisisca i concetti di base relativi a diagnosi, cura e prognosi delle principali malattie pediatriche ed ematologiche pediatriche.

Contenuti sintetici

Al termine del corso lo studente deve avere acquisito le conoscenze fondamentali inerenti alla fisiologia del bambino e alle più frequenti patologie pediatriche ed ematologiche dell’infanzia.

Programma esteso

Fisiologia di neonato, lattante e bambino: nozioni su crescita staturo-ponderale, percentili, sviluppo
puberale, dentizione, dieta, prevenzione delle carie; nozioni circa obesità e rachitismo
Malattie esantematiche, vaccinazioni, malattie respiratorie, malattie endocrinologiche, malattie del sistema nervoso centrale
Leucemie pediatriche, in particolare leucemia linfoblastica acuta; linfomi pediatrici, in particolare aspetti diagnostici e terapeutici.
Il bambino con sindrome di Down e altre sindromi genetiche
Emopatie non oncologiche, in particolare emoglobinopatie, piastrinopenie, coagulopatie.
Trapianto di midollo osseo: chi, che cosa, come, quando, perché

Aims

The student is expected to learn basic concepts about diagnosis, treatment and outcome of pediatric diseases and hematological disorders involving children and adolescents.

Contents

The aim of the course is to provide students with basic concepts about the physiology of the growing child, the commonest pediatric diseases and hematological disorders occurring in childhood.

Detailed program

The physiology of newborn, toddler and child: concepts about growth, growth centiles, pubertal
development, dentition, diet and prevention of tooth decay; obesity and rickets.
Pediatric rashes, vaccinations, respiratory disorders, endocrinological diseases and disorders involving the central nervous system
Pediatric leukemias and lymphomas, focus on diagnostic and therapeutical issues.
The child with Down syndrome and other syndromic diseases
Non oncological blood disorders (hemoglobinopathies, thrombocytopenia, clotting disorders). Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: who, what, how, when, why
