Obiettivi

L'obiettivo principale del corso è presentare agli studenti la farmacologia delle principali patologie endocrine e nefrologiche. Verrà fornita una descrizione generale dei principali ormoni e farmaci che modulano l'attività ipotalamica e pituitaria, la tiroide, le ghiandole surrenali e la funzione gonadica, influenzando l'omeostasi minerale ossea, insieme a informazioni sui farmaci che agiscono sul tratto urinario inferiore. Saranno inoltre presentati il meccanismo d'azione, le proprietà terapeutiche, le interazioni farmacologiche e gli effetti collaterali.

Principali classi di farmaci, meccanismi d'azione, interazioni farmacologiche e precauzioni.

Programma esteso

Ormoni ipotalamici e pituitari (antagonisti della somatotropina e dell'ormone della crescita, gonadotropina, analoghi e antagonisti dell'ormone di rilascio delle gonadotropine, prolattina, ossitocina e antagonisti dell'ossitocina, vasopressina e antagonisti della vasopressina.

Farmaci tiroidei e antitiroidei (ormoni tiroidei e agenti antitiroidei, gestione dell'ipotiroidismo e dell'ipertiroidismo).

Adrenocorticosteroidi e antagonisti adrenocorticali (idrocortisone e corticosteroidi sintetici, mineralcorticoidi, androgeni surrenali, antagonisti dei glucocorticoidi e mineralcorticoidi).

Farmaci gonadici (estrogeni, progestinici e altri ormoni ovarici, contraccezione ormonale, inibitori e antagonisti degli estrogeni e del progesterone, androgeni e steroidi anabolizzanti, soppressione degli androgeni e antiandrogeni).

Agenti che influenzano l'omeostasi minerale ossea (ormone paratiroideo, vitamina D, FGF23, calcitonina, glucocorticoidi, estrogeni, bifosfonati, denosumab, calciomimetici, fluoro, terapia dell'ipercalcemia e dell'ipofosfatemia).

Farmaci per le malattie delle vie urinarie inferiori.

Aims

Main aim of the course is to provide students with the pharmacology of major endocrine- and nephro-pathologies. A general description of main hormones and drugs modulating hypothalamic and pituitary activity, thyroid, adrenal glands and gonadal function, affecting bone mineral homeostasis, together with information on drugs acting at the lower urinary tract will be given. Mechanism of action, therapeutic properties, drug interactions, and side effects will also be presented.

Contents

Main classes of drugs, mechanisms of action, drug interactions and precautions.

Detailed program

Hypothalamic and pituitary hormones (somatotropin and growth hormone antagonists, gonadotropin, gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs and antagonists, prolactin, oxytocin and oxytocin antagonists, vasopressin and vasopressin antagonists.

Thyroid and antithyroid drugs (thyroid hormones and antithyroid agents, management of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism).

Adrenocorticosteroids and adrenocortical antagonists (hydrocortisone and synthetic corticosteroids, mineralocorticoids, adrenal androgens, antagonists of glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids).

Gonadal drugs (estrogens, progestins and other ovarian hormones, hormonal contraception, estrogen and progesterone inhibitors and antagonists, androgens and anabolic steroids, androgen suppression and antiandrogens).

Agents that affect bone mineral homeostasis (parathyroid hormone, vitamin D, FGF23, calcitonin, glucocorticoids, estrogens, bisphosphonates, denosumab, calcimimetics, fluoride, therapy of hypercalcemia and hypophosphatemia).

Drugs for diseases of the lower urinary tract.
