1. Conoscere le basi patologiche e le caratteristiche cliniche dei LUTS (Lower urinary tract symproms)

2. Conoscere le basi patologiche e le caratteristiche cliniche del carcinoma prostatico

3. Conoscere le basi patologiche e le caratteristiche cliniche dei tumori della vescica e dell'alta via escretrice.

4. Conoscere le basi patologiche e le caratteristiche cliniche dei tumori renali

5. Conoscere le basi patologiche e le caratteristiche cliniche dei calcoli renali e ureterali.

Alla fine della Clerkship, gli studenti devono aver sviluppato le seguenti capacità:
1- Eseguire una esplorazione rettale per la valutazione della prostata,
2- Eseguire una anamnesi e un esame obiettivo urologico,
3- Eseguire una xcateterizzazione vescicale,
4- Assistere alla esecuzione di una cistoscopia flessibile e di una biopsia prostatica,
5- Assistere ad almeno una seduta di chirurgia urologica (robotica, laparoscopica, endoscopica o a cielo aperto)

La Clerkship coprirà i più importanti aspetti clinici delle più comuni patologie urogenitali. Gli studenti acquisiranno le conoscenze basilari per diagnosticare e gestire i disturbi minzionali, la calcolosi urinaria, e le più comuni patologia uro-oncologiche.

1 . Approccio clinico e gestione del paziente che presenta sintomi delle basse vie urinarie (LUTS)

2 . Approccio clinico e gestione del paziente affetto da carcinoma della prostata

3 . Approccio clinico e gestione del paziente che presenta un carcinoma della vescica o delle alte vie urinarie

4 . Approccio clinico e gestione del paziente con neoplasia renale

5 . Approccio clinico e gestione del paziente con calcoli renali o ureterali

Corso di Basic Clinical Skills

  • Osservazione guidata delle attività pratiche, con briefing e debriefing da parte dei tutor ospedalieri

  • Descrizione e analisi di casi clinici

Secondo semestre

Al termine dell'esperienza di Clerkship, gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di svolgere una discussione di gruppo su un caso clinico presentato all'inizio della partecipazione alla Clerkship

1. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)

2. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of prostate cancer

3. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of bladder cancer and upper urinary tract cancer

4. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of kidney cancer

5. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of kidney and ureteral stones

At the end of the Clerckship, students should have reached the following aims:
1- perform a digital rectal examination for prostate evaluation,
2- perform physical examination and urological anamnesis,
3- learn the modalities of bladder catheterization,
4- assist in the execution of a flexible cystoscopy and a prostate biopsy,
5- attend the surgery room (for open, robotic or laparoscopic urologic surgery)

The clerkships will cover the most important aspects related to the commonly encountered pathologies of the urogenital system. Students will acquire the basic knowledge required to diagnose and manage urinary voiding disfunction, urinary stones, and the most common uro-oncological pathologies.

Basic Clinical Skills course

  • Practical guided observation activities with briefings and debriefings by hospital tutors

Second semester

At the end of the Clerkship experience, students should be able to perform a group discussion dealing on a clinical case presented at the beginning of the Clerkship attendance
