Sustainable Development Goals
Aims
1. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)
2. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of prostate cancer
3. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of bladder cancer and upper urinary tract cancer
4. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of kidney cancer
5. To understand the basis and clinical behavior of kidney and ureteral stones
At the end of the Clerckship, students should have reached the following aims:
1- perform a digital rectal examination for prostate evaluation,
2- perform physical examination and urological anamnesis,
3- learn the modalities of bladder catheterization,
4- assist in the execution of a flexible cystoscopy and a prostate biopsy,
5- attend the surgery room (for open, robotic or laparoscopic urologic surgery)
Contents
The clerkships will cover the most important aspects related to the commonly encountered pathologies of the urogenital system. Students will acquire the basic knowledge required to diagnose and manage urinary voiding disfunction, urinary stones, and the most common uro-oncological pathologies.
