Obiettivi

Generare conoscenza delle principali dinamiche e relazioni economiche nel settore sanitario.

Acquisire capacità di comprensione dei principali fenomeni economici legati al settore della salute.

Al termine dell'insegnamento lo studente avrà acquisito competenze tali da comprendere il funzionamento del sistema economico con le specificazioni relative al settore sanitario; inoltre avrà appreso le principali problematiche per definire indicatori di performances, e metodi di copertura delle spese sanitarie
Contenuti sintetici
Il corso fornisce conoscenze sulle principali caratteristiche economiche del settore sanitario, sui metodi di finanziamento nell'ottica del welfare state, sul sistema italiano. Affronta sia dal lato della domanda che dal lato dell'offerta delle cure e delle prestazioni sanitarie. L'assistenza sanitaria è uno dei settori più importanti dei sistemi economici moderni, poiché comporta una grande quantità di risorse pubbliche e/o private e per il suo impatto sulla qualità della vita della popolazione e, a sua volta, sulla crescita economica. È essenziale imparare i principali fattori che influenzano la domanda e l'offerta nel settore della salute e come utilizzare in modo efficiente le crescenti risorse richieste dalla popolazione.

La verifica dell'apprendimento è basata su un esame scritto. Questo è composto da un esercizio numerico e da una domanda aperta. Esercizio e domanda aperta sono valutate in trentesimi e il voto è la media artimetica di queste due valutazioni. Il tempo disponibile per la prova scritta è di 1 ora.

At the end of the course, the student will have acquired skills such as to understand the functioning of the economic system with the specifications relating to the health sector; he will also have learned the main problems for defining performance indicators, and methods of covering health costs.
Contents
The course provides knowledge about the main economic characteristics of the health sector, methods of financing from the perspective of the welfare state, and the Italian system. It addresses both the demand side and the supply side of health care and services. Health care is one of the most important sectors of modern economic systems because it involves a large amount of public and/or private resources and because of its impact on the quality of life of the population and, in turn, on economic growth. It is essential to learn the main factors influencing supply and demand in the health sector and how to efficiently use the growing resources demanded by the population.

The teaching is delivered through lectures. The lessons also include the performance of numerical exercises. The contents of the lessons are available in the slides prepared by the teacher and available on elearning.

Assessment method
The verification of learning is based on a written exam. This consists of a numerical exercise and an open question. Exercise and open question are graded in thirtieths, and the grade is the arithmetic mean of these two assessments. The time available for the written test is 1 hour.
