Obiettivi

Alla fine del Corso lo studente sarà in grado di integrare le conoscenze su epidemiologia, storia naturale, strumentin diagnostici e terapia delle più frequenti malattie infettive allo scopo di indirizzare la gestione dei più frequenti scenari clinici in cui un’infezione sia posta in diagnosi differenziale
Il corso prevede un case based learning con lavoro in piccoli gruppi

Contenuti sintetici

Gestione del paziente con:
Febbre con o senza richiami d’organo
Esantema
Sospetta infezione grave nell’ospite immunocompromesso
Infezione da HIV

Programma esteso

Introduzione: approccio ai principali quadri clinici in malattie infettive: Anamnesi, Esame Obiettivo Tests di laboratorio e di Imaging, e trattamento
Lavoro in piccolo gruppi su casi clinici nei seguenti scenari:
• Gestione del paziente con febbre
o Senza richiami d’organo
o Con sintomi respiratori
o Con sintiomi digestivi
o Con Sintomi Neurologici
• Gestione del paziente con Rash
• Gestione del paziente immunocompromesso con possibile infezione grave
• Gestione del paziente con infezione da HIV

Prerequisiti

Come nel Corso in Malattie Infettive conoscenze nei corsi indicati nei regolamenti e frequenza nel Corso di Malattie Infettive

Aims

By the end of the course the student will be able to integrate the knowledge about epidemiology, natural history, diagnostic tools and treatment of the most frequent infectious diseases in order to
approach the management of different clinical scenarios where an infection is included in the differential diagnosis.
The course will be developed by using case based learning with work in small groups

Contents

Management of the patient with:

  • Fever with or without specific symptoms
  • Rash
  • Suspected infection in compromised host
  • HIV infection

Detailed program

Introduction: approach to the management of clinical scenarios in Infectious Diseases , History, Physical examination, Lab and Imaging and treatment
Case based work in small groups on the
• Management of the patient with fever and
o No specific symptoms
o Respiratory symtoms
o Digestive symptoms
o Neurologic Symptoms
• Management of the patient with Rash
• Management of the immunosuppressed patient with suspected severe infection
• Management of the patient with HIV infection

Prerequisites

As in the course on Infectious Diseases knowledge of the introductory courses indicated in the degree course regulations and frequency in the Infectious Diseases Course
