Obiettivi formativi

Il corso ha l’obiettivo di offrire una panoramica il più possibile completa sulle dinamiche mediali contemporanee, e sull’influsso che esse hanno sulla cultura. Attraverso l'analisi del funzionamento dei nuovi media, il corso permette di approfondire nozioni relative alle caratteristiche tecnologiche, culturali e sociali dell'ecosistema mediale contemporaneo, formando studentesse e studenti in vista di sbocchi occupazionali in questo campo.

Contenuti sintetici

Nella prima parte si analizzeranno i cambiamenti dell’industria mediale nel nuovo secolo, cercando di mettere in luce le trasformazioni tecnologiche e digitali che hanno profondamente modificato questo settore. Nella seconda parte ci si focalizzerà nell’analizzare la nascita e la struttura dell’industria culturale sui social media.

Metodi didattici

Il Corso si compone di 56 ore, di cui indicativamente il 50% con didattica erogativa (lezioni frontali con utilizzo di slides, audio e video) e il 50% con didattica interattiva (esercitazioni, lavori in sottogruppo, presentazione di casi di studio a partire dai quali sviluppare lavori individuali e in sottogruppo, preparati e discussi durante il corso.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

Esame scritto finale. Nell'esame scritto sarà verificata la pertinenza della risposta, il grado di conoscenza dell’argomento, la chiarezza espositiva e la capacità argomentativa e la precisione terminologica.

Learning objectives

The course aims to provide an overview of contemporary media dynamics, particularly emphasizing the influence they have on culture. By studying the functioning of new media, the course will allow students to deepen their understanding of the technological, social and cultural underpinnings of the contemporary media ecosystem, and will provide them with tools that will be useful during their work life.

Contents

In the first part we will analyze the changes in the media industry in the new century, trying to highlight the technological and digital transformations that have profoundly changed this sector. In the second part we will focus on analyzing the birth and structure of the creative industry on social media.

Teaching methods

The Course consists of 56 hours, of which approximately 50 percent is with didactic delivery (lectures with use of slides, audio and video) and 50 percent with interactive teaching (exercises, subgroup work, presentation of case studies from which to develop individual and subgroup work, prepared and discussed during the course.

Assessment methods

Final written exam. The aim of the exam is to asess the comprehension degree of the issues dealt with in the course, the argumentative skills, the clarity of exposition, the accuracy of sociological terminology.
