Obiettivi formativi

Al termine del corso gli studenti e le studentesse saranno in grado di:

  1. Conoscere i fondamenti ontologici, epistemologici e metodologici della ricerca sociale applicata al turismo (Descrittore 1);
  2. Applicare strumenti di raccolta e analisi dei dati quantitativi (Descrittore 2);
  3. Interpretare i dati empirici con spirito critico e autonomia di giudizio (Descrittore 3);
  4. Comunicare i risultati della ricerca in modo chiaro e appropriato, anche in lingua inglese (Descrittore 4);
  5. Approfondire in modo autonomo i contenuti trattati per utilizzarli in contesti professionali e accademici (Descrittore 5).

Prerequisiti

Conoscenza dei concetti fondamentali di metodologia della ricerca sociale

Metodi didattici

Il corso è articolato in 56 ore di didattica così suddivise:

-Didattica erogativa (46 ore): 23 lezioni frontali da 2 ore in presenza;
-Didattica interattiva (10 ore): 20 ore sincrone.

La didattica erogativa è finalizzate alla trasmissione di concetti teorici e metodologici relativi alla ricerca sociale sul turismo. La didattica interattiva include lo svolgimento di attività individuali e di gruppo, come, ad esempio, la preparazione e l’erogazione di presentazioni, la stesura di una breve rassegna della letteratura, la costruzione e somministrazione di questionari, l’analisi di dati secondari. Tali attività mirano a sviluppare competenze operative e riflessive, favorendo l’apprendimento attivo.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

Prova scritta composta da test a risposta multipla (23 domande, 23 punti) e una domanda aperta (8 punti). La prova è volta a verificare le conoscenze di base della metodologia della ricerca e le capacità di applicazione di tali conoscenze a casi studio concreti.

Learning objectives

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Understand the ontological, epistemological, and methodological foundations of social research applied to tourism (Descriptor 1);

  2. Apply tools for the collection and analysis of quantitative data (Descriptor 2);

  3. Interpret empirical data with critical thinking and independent judgement (Descriptor 3);

  4. Communicate research findings clearly and appropriately, including in English (Descriptor 4);

  5. Further explore course contents independently and apply them in academic and professional contexts (Descriptor 5).

Prerequisites

Basic understanding of social research methodology

Teaching methods

The course consists of** 56 hours** of teaching, structured as follows:

-Lecture-based teaching (46 hours): 23 in-person lectures, each lasting 2 hours;
-Interactive teaching (10 hours): 20 synchronous hours.

The lecture-based component is aimed at delivering theoretical and methodological concepts related to social research in tourism. The interactive component includes individual and group activities such as preparing and delivering presentations, drafting a brief literature review, designing and administering questionnaires, and analysing secondary data. These activities are designed to develop both practical and reflective skills, fostering active learning.

Assessment methods

Written examination is constituted of 5 open question. The examinations aims to assess the basic knowledge of social research methodology and the ability to apply such skills to real cases.
