Questo è un corso progredito di macroeconomia. L'obiettivo è di presentare agli studenti i recenti sviluppi teorici della macroeconomia contemporanea.

Il corso toccherà i seguenti temi:

Crescita e ciclo economico
Liquidità
Moneta e disoccupazione

Il programma si svolgerà come segue:

  1. Introduzione alla moderna macroeconomia
  2. Modello di crescita, RBC, Modello a generazioni sovrapposte, Modello di Bewley con mercati incompleti
  3. Modello di Diamond-Dybvig, Fallimenti di coordinamento, concorsi di bellezza
  4. Modello di Search e matching

Il corso richiede delle conoscenze di base di matematica, macroeconomia

Lezioni frontali, esercitazioni, presentazioni in classe
Il corso si articolerà in 50 ore di didattica frontale in classe e 6 ore da remoto

Compito a casa, test in classe e presentazione di un articolo scientifico
Il test in classe consterà di esercizi e varrà non meno del 20% del voto finale

This is an advanced course in macroeconomics. The goal is to introduce the student to the recent theoretical advances in contemporary macroeconomics.

The course will focus on the following topics

Growth and business cycles
Liquidity
Money and unemployment

The program will unfold as follows:

  1. Introduction to contemporary macroeconomics
  2. Growth model, RBC model, OLG model, Bewley model
  3. Diamond-Dybvig model, Coordination failures, Beauty contests
  4. Search and matching model

The prerequisites are: calculus, basic macro

Lectures and exercises in class. Presentations by the students
There will be 50 hours face-to-face in class and 6 hours on-line

Homework, test in class, presentation of a paper
The test will include exercises and will be worth not less than 20% of the final grade
