Fornire allo studente esperienza diretta della gestione di pazienti anziani, con particolare riferimento all’approccio olistico ed alla complessità clinica delle sindromi geriatriche e della fragilità. Le conoscenze di geriatria, integrate con quelle acquisite negli altri internati e con le lezioni del corso serviranno per gestire con le adeguate competenze le problematiche del paziente anziano in ospedale

Lo studente affiancherà il medico-tutore durante la sua giornata lavorativa in reparto.

Discussione interattiva di casi clinici al letto del malato, riguardanti patologie cardiovascolari, respiratorie, endocrino-metaboliche, neurologiche, gastroenterologiche, nefrologiche, reumatologiche. Particolare attenzione sarà posta ai pazienti anziani fragili.

Conoscenza della semeiotica e metodologia clinica, della fisiopatologia e della farmacologia.
Attività a scelta per studenti dal V anno di corso.

L’internato è proposto agli studenti del quinto anno del corso di Laurea.

Per valutare sia le conoscenze acquisite dallo studente sia la sua capacità di ragionamento clinico, l'esame orale partirà da un caso clinico, che lo studente dovrà discutere in maniera critica per giungere a diagnosi e terapia.

Provide the student with direct experience in managing elderly patients, with particular reference to the holistic approach and the clinical complexity of geriatric syndromes and frailty. The knowledge of geriatrics, integrated with that acquired in other internships and with the course lectures, will serve to competently manage the problems of elderly patients in the hospital.

The student will assist his/her physician-tutor during the working day at the ward.

Interactive discussion of clinical cases at the patient's bedside, encompassing cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine-metabolic, neurological, gastroenterological, kidney and rheumatological diseases. Particular attention will be offered towards the clinical needs of frail elderly patients.

Knowledge of semeiotics and clinical methodology, of pathophysiology and pharmacology
Activities chosen by students of the fifth year of the Medical Degree course and over.

The internship is offered to fifth-year students of the degree course

To evaluate both the knowledge acquired by the scholars and their ability in the clinical reasoning, the oral exam will start from a clinical case, which the student will critically discuss to obtain the most likely diagnosis and define the medical treatment.
