Obiettivi

Lo scopo del corso è quello di fornire elementi per effettuare il colloquio psichiatrico, raccogliere un’adeguata anamnesi inclusiva di anamnesi familiare, eseguire l’esame delle funzioni psichiche, formulare ipotesi diagnostiche differenziali sulla base della storia clinica e dell’obiettività psichiatrica, individuare gli strumenti diagnostici aggiuntivi (tecniche di brain imaging, esami bioumorali, neuroendocrinologici, neurofisiologici) con il livello di priorità della loro esecuzione, integrare i dati raccolti per giungere a formulare una corretta diagnosi psichiatrica, saper individuare le opzioni terapeutiche più appropriate per il paziente nell’ottica della psichiatria di precisione, e saper indicare correttamente al paziente e ai caregiver il percorso di cura sul territorio.

Una panoramica completa su psicopatologia, diagnosi, trattamento farmacologico e non farmacologico dei principali disturbi psichiatrici.

Modalità didattica

Gli studenti saranno divisi in piccoli gruppi di 5-6 individui e ruoteranno nei diversi ambiti clinico-assistenziali: Servizio Psichiatrico di Diagnosi e Cura, Day-Hospital, Pronto Soccorso, Centro-Psicosociale e Day Care. L’apprendimento sarà basato su lezioni frontali, su problemi (problem-based learning) e su casi clinici (case-based
learning). La modalità di tutoraggio sarà 1:1. Lo studente sarà sia osservatore clinico che esecutore supervisionato (tutor).

Modalità di verifica del profitto e valutazione

Prima di poter sostenere la prova orale lo studente dovrà soddisfare i seguenti requisiti:

  • 80% di frequenza alla Clerkship 8
  • Approvazione da parte del tutor dell'acquisizione delle competenze richieste
    L’esame orale sarà svolto da un team multidisciplinare di docenti afferenti alla Clerkship 8.
    Agli studenti, divisi in gruppi di 10 circa, verranno affidati argomenti trasversali alle discipline della Clerkship sui quali preparare una presentazione di circa 30 minuti che esplori definizione, presentazione clinica, diagnosi differenziale, esami diagnostici e approcci terapeutici.

Aims

The aim of the course is to provide students with the skills necessary to: conduct a thorough psychiatric interview and collect a comprehensive history, including family history; perform a mental state examination effectively; formulate differential diagnostic hypotheses based on clinical history and psychiatric findings; identify and prioritize additional diagnostic tools, such as brain imaging techniques, biohumoral, neuroendocrinological, and neurophysiological tests; integrate the collected data to deliver an accurate psychiatric diagnosis; determine the most appropriate therapeutic options for the patient, with a focus on precision psychiatry; clearly communicate the treatment plan to both the patient and caregivers, outlining the course of care.

A comprehensive overview of psychopathology, diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments of the main psychiatric disorders.

Teaching form

The students will be divided into small groups of 5-6, and it will be asked them to rotate in different clinical psychiatric settings: Psychiatric Inpatients Unit, Day-Hospital, Emergency Room, Psychiatric Outpatient Unit and Day Care. Learning will be based on lectures, problems (problem-based learning) and clinical cases (case-based
learning). The tutoring system will be 1:1. The student will be both a clinical observer and a supervised performer (tutor).

Assessment method

Before being allowed to sustain the oral examination the student should meed the following requirements:

  • 80% of attendance to the Clerckship 8
  • Approval from the tutor of the acquisition of the required skills
    The oral examination shall be carried out by a multidisciplinary team of teachers belonging to Clerkship 8.
    To the students, divided into groups of about 10, will be asked to prepare and deliver a power point presentation on trasversal topics to the Clerkship (of about 30 minutes of duration) that explores definition, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, diagnostic tests and therapeutic approaches.
