Obiettivi

Al termine del corso lo studente deve avere acquisito le principali conoscenze sulle cause di malattia incluse le malattie genetiche, nonché i meccanismi patogenetici e fisiopatologici fondamentali; avere appreso i meccanismi responsabili dell’insorgenza e dell’evoluzione della risposta infiammatoria e della trasformazione neoplastica; conoscere la genetica e il metabolismo microbico e la patogenesi delle malattie microbiche; conoscere i meccanismi fisiologici di difesa dell'organismo e le conseguenze di un funzionamento alterato del sistema immunitario ed ematopoietico.

Contenuti sintetici

Cause esogene e genetiche di malattia; meccanismi fisiopatologici fondamentali e patogenetici alla base dell’insorgenza e dell’evoluzione della risposta infiammatoria e della trasformazione neoplastica; genetica e metabolismo microbico e patogenesi delle malattie microbiche; meccanismi fisiologici di difesa dell'organismo e conseguenze di un funzionamento alterato del sistema immunitario ed ematopoietico.

Modalità didattica

Sede di Monza
Tutte le lezioni dei moduli di Patologia Generale, Fisiopatologia Generale, Patologia Clinica, Patologia Genetica e Malattie del sangue e del Sistema Immunitario nella sede di Monza sono svolte in presenza in modalità erogativa.
Le lezioni del modulo di Microbiologia nella sede di Monza sono svolte in presenza in modalità sia erogativa che interattiva
Sede di Bergamo
Tutte le lezioni sono svolte in presenza in modalità erogativa.

Modalità di verifica del profitto e valutazione

Esame scritto con orale obbligatorio.
La prova scritta sarà costituita da:
● Test a risposte chiuse (Scelta a risposta multipla) di Microbiologia per il controllo della preparazione sul programma d’esame
● Test a risposte chiuse (Scelta a risposta multipla) di Malattie del Sangue e del Sistema Immunitario per il controllo della preparazione sul programma d’esame
● Test a risposte chiuse (Scelta a risposta multipla) di Patologia Genetica per il controllo della preparazione sul programma d’esame. Per la sede di Bergamo la prova scritta conterrà anche domande di Patologia Genetica a risposta aperta.
La prova orale consisterà in un colloquio sugli argomenti di Patologia Generale, Fisiopatologia Generale e Patologia Clinica svolti a lezione per il controllo delle capacità comunicative in ambito disciplinare.
La valutazione finale terrà conto dei risultati ottenuti sia nella prova scritta che nella prova orale.

Aims

At the end of the course the student must have acquired the main knowledge on the causes of disease including genetic diseases, as well as the fundamental pathogenetic and pathophysiological mechanisms; have learned the mechanisms responsible for the onset and evolution of the inflammatory response and neoplastic transformation; learn about genetics and microbial metabolism and the pathogenesis of microbial diseases; know the physiological defense mechanisms of the organism and the consequences of an altered functioning of the immune and hematopoietic system.

Exogenous and genetic causes of disease; fundamental pathophysiological and pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the onset and evolution of the inflammatory response and neoplastic transformation; microbial genetics and metabolism and pathogenesis of microbial diseases; physiological defense mechanisms of the organism and consequences of an altered functioning of the immune and hematopoietic system.

Monza
All lessons in the modules of General Pathology, General Pathophysiology, Clinical Pathology, Genetic Pathology and Blood and Immune System Diseases at the Monza site are held in attendance in frontal modality.
The lessons of the Microbiology module at the Monza campus are held in attendance in both frontal and interactive modes
Bergamo
All lessons are held in attendance in frontal modality.

Semester

Second year- First semester

Assessment method

Written exam with mandatory oral exam.
The written test will consist of:
● Closed-answer test (multiple choice) of Microbiology to check preparation on the exam program
● Closed-answer test (multiple choice) of Blood and Immune System Diseases to check preparation on the exam program
● Closed-answer test (multiple choice) of Genetic Pathology to check preparation on the exam programme. For the Bergamo students, the written test will also contain open-ended questions on Genetic Pathology.
The oral test will consist of an interview on the topics of General Pathology, General Pathophysiology and Clinical Pathology carried out in class to check communication skills in the disciplinary field.
The final evaluation will take into account the results obtained in both the written test and the oral test.
