  • Interviews for admission to the Master Degree Course in Astrophysics and Space Physics - September 24th 2024

The result of the interviews is published at the bottom of this page in the section “Results of candidates evaluation”

  • Admission to the Master's degree programme in Astrophysics and Space Physics requires a bachelor degree (minimum 3 years) from an accredited college/university including at least 18 ECTS in mathematics and 18 ECTS in physics. If necessary, the admission committee will evaluate the equivalency of ECTS between different universities.
Once the curricular requirements have been verified, admission to the Master's degree programme is conditional on the assessment of the adequacy of personal preparation, which will be carried out through an admission interview.
A basic knowledge of Quantum Mechanics (see document below) is required for the admission and can be demonstrated by presence of a (introductory) quantum mechanics course in the candidate’s transcript of records. In absence of such record, the required basic knowledge in quantum mechanics will be briefly evaluated during the interview through oral questions on the topics listed in the document below.
Applicants with a degree in Physics, Astrophysics or Astronomy (class L-30) with a graduation mark of 82/110 or higher are exempt from the admission interview. Applicants with an equivalent foreign qualification, i.e. BSc (or equivalent three-year degree) in Physics, Astrophysics or Astronomy, with a final mark of 3 out of 4 (or equivalent) or higher, are also exempt from the admission interview provided that they meet all the curricular requirements.

B2 level knowledge of the English language is required for admission to the Master’s Degree in Astrophysics and space physics.
