  • The NEW CALL for applications for the Master’s Degree Program in Optometry and Vision Science for the academic year 2025/26 has been published (deadline September 4, 2025, not open however to visa applicants).

    IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CAREFULLY READ THE ADMISSION CALL, which can be downloaded from the link:

    In addition to graduates, the following may also participate:

    • Students enrolled in a degree program at an Italian University who will graduate by November 30, 2025;

    • Students who will graduate from a foreign University by August 31, 2025.

    A presentation both in Italian and in English (a sort of virtual Open Day) is available at the bottom of this page.

    A B2 level of English is required. Candidates who need to take the English test (because they do not already hold this certification) can take the exam at this University. For those who need it, the B2 English language test can be taken at the University of Milano-Bicocca on July 16, 2025 and/or September 2, 2025 by sending a request via email at least eight days before the test date (details are provided in the official call for applications).

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    The access to the Master's degree course is by selection. For the academic year 2025-2026, there are 50 available positions.

    For admission to the Master's Degree Program, candidates must:

    • Have specific curricular requirements, i.e. a Bachelor's degree in the L-30 class of Physical Sciences and Technologies (DM 270/04) or Class 25 of Physical Sciences and Technologies; (DM 509/99), or another foreign academic qualification recognized as suitable. Those with a Bachelor's degree in a different class must have at least 30 ECTS credits in the scientific-disciplinary sectors FIS/01 - Experimental Physics, FIS/03 - Matter Physics, and FIS/07 - Applied Physics (to cultural heritage, environment, biology, and medicine). For the 2025/26 academic year, the deadline to obtain the italian bachelor's degree is November 30, 2025 (The deadline is August 31, 2025 for candidates who will obtain their degree abroad).
    • Have English language proficiency equal to or higher than level B2. The English language proficiency requirement is considered fulfilled if the candidate meets one of the following conditions: 
      a) holds a certification, recognized by the University, issued by an accredited  institution, corresponding to level B2 or higher;
      b) has obtained the Bbetween English B2 open badge from the University of Milano-Bicocca OR have passed an English language exam in their previous academic career at a level equal to or higher than B2;
      c) has completed a degree program entirely or predominantly taught in English.
    • Demonstrate adequate personal preparation assessed through an interview conducted as described below;
    • Rank favourably in the merit ranking.
