For the management of elective courses students enrolled in the single cycle Postgraduate/Master’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery are required to select the specific courses they wish to attend in the Academic Year 2024/2025.

Students must express their preferences ranging from a minimum of 1 (one) to a maximum of 8 (eight) choices. Based on the preferences indicated by each student and the criteria below, a ranking list will be compiled.

The choice of elective courses must be completed exclusively through the procedure available on SEGRETERIE ONLINE. Each student will be able to view only the list of courses offered by their degree program for their course year.

Each student must indicate an ORDER OF PREFERENCE (ranging from 1 for the activity of highest interest up to 8 for that of least interest).

Before making their choice, students must check the timetable of the various courses on WEB AGENDA to avoid any overlap of date and time between the courses chosen.

The CHOICE OF COURSES must be completed by the deadline, from 12:00 on January 22, 2025, until 12:00 on January 27, 2025.

The RANKING LIST will be compiled according to the following criteria, approved by the “Consiglio di Coordinamento didattico” on 13th January 2020:

a. total number of credits acquired by 31/12/2024;

b. for the same number of credits acquired, the highest weighted average;

c. in case of any further similarities, the choice made by the younger student shall prevail.

 

A maximum of 4 activities can be allocated to each student.

If 4 courses are allocated to the student, all the choices in a lower position in the order of preferences (therefore of less interest to the student) will be cancelled. Any other courses tentatively allocated but not confirmed by the student will also be cancelled.

In any case, the preferences expressed for courses that do not reach the minimum number of participants will be cancelled.

The ranking list will be published at 12:00 pm on January 29, 2025.

Students are required to confirm their will to enroll in the courses allocated, from 12.00 pm on January 29, 2025 to 12.00 pm on February 03, 2025.

On February 04, 2025, at 12:00 pm, the ranking list for the allocation of vacant places will be published.

From 12:00 pm, February 04, 2025, to 12:00 pm, February 06, 2025, students selected for the vacant places will be required to confirm their will to enroll in those courses.

NOTICE

All the elective courses confirmed by the student become part of the student’s study plan and must be compulsorily attended (min 70% for each elective) in the academic year of enrollment.

Students who wish to attend an ELECTIVE COURSE which is already present in their booklet from previous academic years and NOT ATTENDED MUST:

• verify that the same course is available again in a.y. 2024/2025.

• follow the procedure for the choice of elective courses described above and SELECT THE SAME course.

• If the course is ALLOCATED and then CONFIRMED by the student, IMMEDIATELY INFORM the Student Secretariat (segr.studenti.medicina@unimib.it).

If a student selects only one course and the course is not activated because the minimum number of participants required is not reached, the student will not be allocated any other courses.

If a student is allocated 4 courses and confirms all 4, he/she will no longer be included in subsequent ranking list updates. The student will be included in subsequent ranking updates only if, not having been allocated his/her more preferred courses, he/she does NOT confirm the less preferred courses that have been tentatively allocated.

Failure to confirm a course will result in the student not being enrolled and not being allowed to attend the course activities. 

N.B. A separate procedure for the choice of elective internships (Internati accreditati) will open in the coming months.  Max 3 (three) internships can be allocated.
