Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento si propone di fornire le conoscenze necessarie sul tipo di dati e di come questi vengano analizzati per ottenere informazioni a supporto delle decisioni manageriali.
Alla fine del corso, lo studente dovrà dimostrare di:
· Conoscere le principali fonti di informazione/dati utilizzati a supporto delle decisioni di business
· Conoscere i metodi di rilevazione ed analisi dei dati
· Saper applicare i metodi statistici ai dati
· Interpretare i risultati ottenuti, fornire delle informazioni sintetiche e delle raccomandazioni di business
Contenuti sintetici
L'insegnamento presenta i metodi statistici utilizzati focalizzandosi sugli aspetti concettuali e logici che giustificano la loro applicazioni alle diverse decisioni di business.
Durante il corso saranno illustrati le analisi statistiche ed i dati utilizzati per:
- decidere l'ingresso in un mercato/categoria di prodotto
- definire l'offerta in termini di portafoglio prodotti/servizi ed il loro target di riferimento
- definire le strategie commerciali e misurare la loro efficacia sul mercato
- ottimizzare il ritorno finanziario degli investimenti di marketing

Prerequisiti
Metodi didattici
La modalità di erogazione dell'insegnamento consiste in lezioni frontali che includono la discussione di alcuni casi aziendali. Le diapositive presentate nelle lezioni ed alti materiali didattici sono disponibili sulla piattaforma e-learning dedicata all'insegnamento
Nel periodo di emergenza Covid-19 le lezioni si svolgeranno da remoto asincrono con eventi in videoconferenza sincrona
Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'accertamento dei risultati dell'apprendimento prevede lo svolgimento di una prova orale.
Contenuti della prova di accertamento:
La prova orale verte su tutto il programma dell'insegnamento, e oltre a verificare la preparazione complessiva dell studente avrà l'obiettivo di:
- accertare la capacità dello studente di formulare risposte articolate sui vari argomenti del programma
- verificare la capacità degli studenti di applicare gli strumenti presentati nel corso a situazioni reali.
Modalità di valutazione
Data Driven Decision Making e Advanced Statistics sono due parti del corso Quantitative Methods for Decision Making.
Il voto finale del corso Quantitative Methods for Decision Making consisterà nella media ponderata in base ai CFU dei voti raggiunti nei due corsi.
La valutazione del corso Data Driven Decision Making è espressa in 30esimi e tiene conto di tutte le prove predisposte ai fini dell'accertamento dell'apprendimento
Nel
periodo di emergenza Covid-19 gli esami orali saranno solo telematici. Verranno
svolti utilizzando la piattaforma WebEx e nella pagina e-learning
dell'insegnamento verrà riportato un link pubblico per l'accesso all'esame di
possibili spettatori virtuali.

Learning objectives
The course has the objective to provide students with knowledge on which type of data and information are used and how they are analized to support informed business decision process.
At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate that he/she is able to:
· Know the main sources of information /data used to support business decision
· Know methods to collect and analyse data
· Apply statistical methods to the data
· Interpret the results obtained, provide synthetic information and recommendation to support business decision
Contents
The course will present the statistical methods focussing on the conceptual and logical aspects that justify their application to different business decisions.
During the course it will be described the statistical analyses and the data used to:
- decide the entrance in a market/product category
- define the product/service portfolio offer and the relative target
- define commercial strategies and measure their in market performance
- optimize the marketing investment return

Attendance to Advanced Statistics Course
Teaching methods
Course is delivered through frontal lessons including some case hystories discussions. Presented charts and other teaching materials are available on the e-learning platform of the course
In the Covid-19 emergency period, lessons will be recorded and take place remotely together with live videoconferencing events
Assessment methods
Learning verification is composed by an oral examination
Exam content:
The exam covers the entire teaching program, and in addition to verifying the overall preparation of the student will aim to:
- ascertain the student's ability to formulate articulated answers on the various topics of the programme
- verify students' ability to apply the tools presented in the course to real-world situations.
The assessment
Data Driven Decision and Advanced Statistics are two parts of the Quantitative Methods for Decision Making Course.
Final grade of Quantitative Methods for Decision Making Course is the CFU weighted avarage of the grades achieved in the two courses.
Data Driven Decision Making course assessemnt is expressed in 30th takes into account all the tests prepared for the assessment of learning
In the period of emergency Covid 19 oral examinations will be telematics only.
They will be carried out using the WebEx platform and on the course e-learning page there will be a public link for access to the examination of possible virtual viewers.
