Methodology in psychological research

The workshop is aimed at acquiring basic methodological skills in psychological research. Each meeting is devoted to present and discuss one or more research projects, by colleagues from the Department and beyond,with a specific attention for the methodological aspects of research design.Quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods are presented, as well as some basic statistical knowledge.

Due to the wideness of the topic and specificity of each research, this can be only intended as an introductory and orientating course; each student will need to learn more and position her/himself in relation to the methodology her/his choice.

The course will take place through four seminars:

- Introduction to applied methods in the field of psychological research

- Quantitative and Qualitative research approaches
-Research design and methods in evaluating well being of people
-Mixed Method research design: beyond the paradigmatic divide
